Food was awesome! I’m a restaurant Operator. We ordered the table side Caesar Salad and Bananas Foster. It was fantastic! Great night out. Kendall was amazing. Have a few suggestions if you’re open. Love your place ?

Cafe 123, located in the heart of Opelika, Alabama, is not just a restaurant; it’s a journey through time and flavors. This culinary haven, nestled in Opelika’s historic downtown, has a rich history that adds to its charm. During the 1950s, it was known as the Haynes Soda Pop Hangout, where locals gathered to enjoy refreshing sodas and good company. Today, Cafe 123 continues to capture the essence of that era while offering a diverse menu that caters to modern tastes. From succulent steaks to fresh seafood, each dish tells a story of culinary craftsmanship. The cozy ambiance and historic undertones make it a favorite spot for locals and visitors alike. Embark on a nostalgic culinary adventure at Cafe 123 and experience the legacy of the Haynes Soda Pop Hangout. I enjoyed the shrimp and grits on a recent visit and it was absolutely delicious and the service was great. The updated interior includes white linens, artwork and funky fixtures. One of my favorite restaurants in the area. #Cafe123 #OpelikaDining #SodaPopHangout #HistoricEats #cafe123

Love everything about this place. I've been going for years. Love their fresh ground burger, pimento cheese app, bananas foster made table side... the list could go on and on! Small intimate setting. Great for date night but my family loves their Sunday brunch too.

Dined about 2 weeks ago. Only 3 tables had guests . We asked for the music to be turned down as we are a bit hard of hearing and could not hear each other . Music was turned down some but we still could not hear at our table. Asked again for music to be turned down. Answer was no , noting the volume was as low as they go, to help "insure" the privacy of tables from one another. With only 3 tables with guests one would think they would somewhat accommodate us. Didn't even suggest another table that might have been quieter. Loud music ruined the meal for us. We will never return to this establishment. Also, medium steak was medium rare. I dared not send it back.

We really enjoy. I get the brown sugar rubbed steak. Very nice restaurant. Very convenient to downtown.

Plate presentation was intentional. Taste and flavor in every dish. Great date night vibe. Drinks were great. We enjoyed the lentil soup and crab stuffed avocado for appetizers. Lamb chops , greens, shrimp and grit cake for main. Everything was delicious! We had the pleasure of being served by Hobson. Warning if you are the only person in your life that appreciates fine dining come by your self. You will love it!

Did I drive 6 hours from Charlotte NC just for chef Eron’s famous pork chop and grit cake? Yes I absolutely did, and I’ll do it again too!
