First experience today. It wasn’t busy upon arrival and we are allowed to seat ourselves. The server was stellar (left her a nice tip) and we didn’t have to wait long for our food. The tables and floors could have been cleaner. My wife ordered a pancake breakfast and she really enjoyed it. I ordered the 3 egg omelet and it was too greasy for my liking. Add salt and pepper to taste! Overall the atmosphere was very welcoming and the service was fast and accurate. I would recommend someone else to eat here :).

We went for breakfast based on a past visit. The food was meh, similar to Huddle house. The server was good, no complaints there. The cashier put sandwich type food in her mouth, then took my receipt, apologized for eating but then took another bite before taking my card…yuck. Thank goodness for the hand sanitizer on the counter.

This was our first time trying out the restaurant. Passed by it many times. Disappointed. Service was awesome. But the food was very very disappointing. Ordered biscuits and gravy. The biscuits were so hard to cut threw you would of thought you would need a hammer and and ice pick just to get threw the biscuits. My son ordered sweet tea tasted as if it was sitting for weeks. They need a NEW LINE OF COOKS. Either the cooks are lazy or the owner is just being cheap to save money on product which is the worst thing to do in a business. I was told the biscuits were made at 6:00 am and left out ALL day. Products should be fresh. It just shows the owner is just to worried about saving a buck instead of fresh product. Just very disappointed.

Great breakfast! Restaurant was clean and service was great. Our server, I think her name was Amanda was fantastic! A bit hard to find but worth it!

My wife and I were passing through AL and found this spot on Yelp. When we walked in, we were greeted with a smile. I lucked up and arrived during the end of breakfast and the beginning of lunch. I ordered eggs and potatoes from the breakfast menu and a pork chop from the lunch menu. That's not normally allowed I'm told but, she hooked me up! That pork chop was phenomenal. It was tender, seasoned well, and fried to perfection. Next time we're passing through Opelika, we'll definitely be visiting Susie K's! Hopefully they add the pork chop to the breakfast menu as well by then.

Staffing issues which was not a problem at first because we know how it is in todays world. Finally got seated at a dirty table. Ordered our food.. were told they our out of biscuits. Not a problem we understand they’re busy. We ordered different food. The poor waitress had to come back to tell one of our party members that the new manager was not allowing people to order the full brunch menu (for example he ordered a hamburger which is on the brunch menu). I hope this was just a bad day and we will try again during the week! We’ve heard great things about this place and want to love it!Edit to add after our food got here.Out of grits so they brought us “home fries” which were French fires cut up… we are confused because the party member who ordered a cheeseburger and French fries was told the manager wasn’t allowing that to be made. Two of us ordered the salmon patty meal which on the menu came with grits, biscuit with tomato gravy, 2eggs, and a pancake. When it arrived they must’ve ran out of grits so they gave us French fries, didn’t bring the gravy because they were out of biscuits so they assumed we didn’t want the gravy. And the pancake lord… I have never seen a pancake so tough that I couldn’t cut with just the side of my fork… and they didn’t account for the price change on our meals because they were out of food

I was hoping to find a new lil hole in the wall here. You know those are usually the best. ?Pros: Very prompt, friendly staff. Very clean and inviting atmosphere. Parking can be an issue.Cons: They ran out of Mac 'n cheese, when they did bring it, it was like they forgot to stir it and I got a mouth full of salt. Stirred it, tried again. SO salty I couldn't eat it...(and I LOVE salt) the hamburger steak was just ok, the gravy tasted canned instead of homemade. The mashed potatoes were too salty also. I gave up after trying. Sadly, will not be back.

The food was amazing. The fried chicken was fried just right and it wasn't greasy. The prices of the food is also very reasonable. I plan on going back this weekend for brunch.

The service was horrible. We had 2 staff speak to us when we came in the door, so they knew we were there. We waited over 5 minutes for anyone to even come to our table. There were only about 4 other tables that were occupied. The staff were at the counter and promptly served another table that came in after us, so I had to go to the counter and ask for service. The food was ok, but I would recommend them add another piece of meat to the egg platters. The portions are small as well.

Country home atmosphere. Waitress was very accommodating. Our food arrived hot and was very good. One if us gluten intolerant and they were very careful.

Excellent food & great service! Definitely a place to remember!! Menu has a good variety for breakfast, lunch & dinner with weekday specials! Very reasonably priced.

Susie K's is as close to a friendly home cooked breakfast you can get.My initial impression was this dingy little single room diner with little effort. The menu felt uninspired and hard to read, but the food choices were pretty straightforward with a tasty special choice of salmon. The staff looked pretty young, but they were insanely polite and worked really hard to keep people both young and old happy. My waiter particularly did her best at keeping up the smile and answered my questions easily. The food itself was delicious and for $20 for two people, I got a lot of it.I would honestly pick this place over Cracker Barrel anytime.

Most importantly they don’t serve breakfast after 10:30am & I didn’t see that posted anywhere until I arrived to disappointment. Idk why any type of food on the menu is limited by time restrictions but this seems to be a new cultural norm that didn’t exist when growing up in the south & I strongly disapprove. The south is home to 24 hour breakfast for goodness sakes. Regardless I decided to eat anyway. Staff was kind; but very new, so despite not having a pleasant first impression, I’ll probably try again. So many good reviews before my arrival surly can’t be wrong. I had the hamburger steak. It was cooked perfectly, but lacked seasoning. I was surprised that the turnips were sweet, but they were still good. The Mac-n-cheese tasted much better than its appearance would give it credit for. The cornbread is dry which caused me to drink all my excellent tasting sweet tea before finishing my meal & I had to go ask for a refill after I finished eating everything else. I was also very interested in a dessert; but never found out what kind they have, nor was I asked if I wanted any. So since I never received my check either, I just walked up to the register tired of waiting. I was only charged a small amount that I can only assume was the correct amount. Everyone including me has days where nothing goes right, so I’m just going to assume that’s what happened & check it out again later.

Just a bad experience overall. I stopped in for a quick breakfast as my phone said it was a good place to eat. The restaurant was relatively empty. The table I wanted to sit at was dirty so they sent me to the one next to it. Then a couple with a little baby came in and they sent them right next to me with the baby 2 feet from me. Remember this is an empty restaurant. I then asked for my food to go. The eggs were not cooked properly, the sausage was cold and dry, the bacon was greasy. The help was behind the counter, all of them eating, I bet their food was fine. You’ll never get another dollar for me.
