I've been baking for 45 years & learned from my mom & grandmother who were excellent cooks & bakers. I am particular in baked goods & expect a nice restaurant or bakery to have quality not quantity.I bought a 4 pack of cupcakes, Strawberry, Caramel, German chocolate & wedding cake. 3 of us split the cakes & agree the strawberry was our ultimate favorite. All of the cakes were moist & delicious & can recommend them all. Will def be back when Im visiting!!
This place meets all standards to good baked goods!! Over 40 years I've been praised highly by many friends & strangers on my baked goods, these cakes are as good as home baked, fresh from the oven. They are moist & flavorful as they should be. If u love to bake but don't have time, I highly recommend this place!! As I am vacationing here I can't bake but this will be my go-to place when I visit!!

I ordered a wedding cake and groom's cake for our daughter's wedding and they were both beautiful and absolutely delicious!! When the flower girl was asked what her favorite part of the wedding was she replied, "THE CAKE!" Thank you!!

We tried their cupcakes this summer in hopes of using Deep South for our wedding cake. We even spoke with the owner/baker about making our cake and cupcakes. We were assured they'd be open (we're getting married on Dec. 27th) and to just contact them 2 weeks prior. Well now it's two weeks prior and she's decided to be closed that week and the next. Very unprofessional. If you can't stand by your word, don't make empty promises like that to customers...especially for their wedding.

This place is near the Rouses in Orange Beach. We wanted to get a cake for an anniversary and heard this place had decent cakes you can simply pick up without ordering in advance.The smell in this place is what you'd expect a cakery to smell like, such good smells when you walk in. The cashier gave us a rundown of all the flavors, and options to buy (cupcakes, small/large cakes).We decided to give the strawberry cake a try, as we wanted to commit to one flavor (but we did buy a single caramel cupcake, which was good). It was a tad too sweet for us, but certainly willing to try another flavor next time.We actually did want to try another cake but went on a Monday (closed on Sundays and Mondays). Luckily Rouses was next door and their cakes are actually pretty good as well.

I had Deep South provide cakes and sweets for my recent wedding. Shannan was a consummate professional and hit it out of the park with cakes and cookies provided. When I told my wedding planner who we were getting our cake from, her first question to me was “are you getting the caramel cake?”…with that recommendation, who can say no? I also wanted the look of a traditional wedding cake as well so we went for both and I was very satisfied with that decision. I also feel that Shannan didn’t try to make me get more than I needed- we had enough for the reception with a small amount left over (thankfully so because we barely got to have any at our own wedding- we enjoyed it the next morning). Shannan delivered the cake and set it up and such a cute way. One thing I forgot to mention is that I put my faith in the recommendations since I live out of town and never got a chance to try the cake before our big day. The previous recommendations and word of mouth were right and I’m so glad we chose Deep South for our wedding goodies!

The strawberry cake was amazing. The caramel cake was perfect. We also got an assortment of cupcakes. Every single person bragged on how amazing the cakes were. Thank you!
