“Absolutely LOVE this place! The owners are so incredibly nice and the sushi/hibachi is probably the best I've ever had! I cannot say enough great things about this place! We have been here a couple time already and can't wait to go back!“
“Mom and Pop! Great price! Friendly server. Chicken lunch entree was good, except veggies included only onions, zucchini, little chopped cabbage and 2-3 slices of mushroom. No carrots, no broccoli. Yum Yum sauce is delicious with a hint of horseradish. Dining room was long and narrow, but clean; however, just next to the grill so noisy. If you seek private conversation ask for a table in the back. *Order ginger dressing on the side of your salad, as there was far too much on mine.“
“Moved to the area not long ago from Nashville. We were concerned about finding a good sushi place and have tried several around Hoover with not finding the right place yet. Tonight we decided to try Unagi and we are so glad we did! Edamame was fresh, wife had the Hometown Roll and I had the Big Al with Soypaper. They were both delish! Service was just as good. Also had the house ginger salad to round out an overall GREAT experience and meal! We will be back for sure and the bonus is living withing 2 mins. Thanks for a great experience!“
“Probably the best kept secret of this area. Their sushi is always soo fresh, but don't skip out on the hot food. The salmon bowl and gyoza or crab rangoons is my go to order. Don't worry if you have picky eaters either, you'll be stealing the chicken nuggets & fries off their plate. They're THAT good!“
“I’ve been going to O’Sushi almost weekly for a couple years and never took the time to leave a review until now. If you love raw tuna rolls and yum yum sauce, theirs is personally my favorite and the best of all the other sushi restaurants around Hoover. I order the same dishes frequently (Roll Tide Roll and the Fantasy Island) and each time I go they present the dish beautifully, and a little differently each time. Today I got the Fantasy Island and the Sushi Chef presented it in the shape of what looks like a crab haha (At least that’s what I saw). They are kind of tucked away so they were one of the last sushi places I tried since moving to Birmingham and it’s a shame. Don’t let the small outside presence fool you, their quality is above par in comparison to the other sushi restaurants around the area! Also pictured below is the Roll Tide Roll ??“
“When I saw this place was reopening, I actually screamed.Food is amazing, portions are big, and prices are great. They seriously have top tier teryaki chicken + shrimp, best yum yum sauce I've had in Birmingham, and amazing lo mein. I haven't had anything that isn't amazing. 10/10. Can't wait to have my bi-weekly Ooka takeout nights back!“
“We tried their ramen here for lunch and both of our ramens were so good! Our waitress was attentive. The food came out quickly as well as the check at the end. The ramen was $15 per soup and it was well worth it. We might be back for dinner :“
“This is a great Japanese restaurant on Hwy 280. The service is some of the best in town and everything we’ve tried on the menu has been delish!! Tonight we visited after not eating here for months and they remembered our order, our preferences, even our favorite table. We had the filet mignon and shrimp with mixed vegetables, noodles, and fried rice. The meal came with a salad with ginger dressing and a bowl of miso soup and we added an order or edamame. Perfect meal, attentive service, and reasonably priced!Kid-friendliness: Kids love this place and especially for birthdays! They have a big gong they ring and they sing and serve the birthday visitor a sparkler in a dessert.“
“I always enjoy my experience at Mizu. From the hostess to the waitress to the cooks, everything was great. I ordered the chicken and shrimp hibachi which comes with miso soup, ginger salad, meats, veggies, rice, and noodles. The food was great and of course tasted fresh. Also for the price, it's a lot of food. The only issue we had was our wine glass broke very easily, which was slightly surprising, but it was replaced quickly. All in all, great visit and great atmosphere.“
“Just tried Ryu out with my boss. We were both so impressed! The sushi chef and server could literally not have been friendlier. I loved that they both seemed to really love being there which is so great for your dining experience. The menu was extensive with a lot of both the classic rolls you expect as well as some fun new and interesting rolls.“
“I go here almost everyday love their food !! I would highly highly recommend! Especially if you’re on a protein veggie diet the perfect place it’s like meal prepping without you having to meal prep ! I actually lost weight eating here .“
“I had a very disappointing experience. I had an online order. That I went to go pick up and it appeared that they did not have my order. So I asked the long-haired dark waitress to double check. And she was so rude and insisting that there's no way that I may. The order with them without even checking. She made me to the point of I did not want to come back.I've always received grexperience when I come here but this little girl had a snotty attitude that was unwarranted. She Should be more like her co-worker.The long blonde haired waitress who is very polite nice“
“My family and I have eaten here many times, and it is a family favorite. Huge selection of foods and the service is good!!Wheelchair accessibility: Easy parking to entry and exit. Several styles of tables and booths, they will help set you up for your wheelchair or power chair.“
