We no longer live in the area but when we visit this is more than likely our first stop! We arrived a little late on tonight(Friday) so my husband only got a plate, my daughter & I will be back tomorrow for lunch as there was limited options left. I have to have Dressing & Yams with my meal! The way my husband has moaned while eating his plate has both of us excited for tomorrow. He said whomever cooked the Turkey Wings had to be sitting at the Table with God ????, the cornbread roll almost made him fall over. My daughter had to get a bite. Needless to say this is the Soulfood Place to be in Area!!!

I could not even finish my food before leaving a review due to such high disappointment. I’ve eaten there before and the service is usually pretty bad, you kinda feel unwanted or like you bothering them. They act like it’s their house not like they are here for the customer, no real professionalism or grace. But I can say a few years ago, the food made up for it now it is bland, dry, The meat is tougher than stale bubblegum. Plates made small portions and sloppy. No gravy or real sauce on the roast and rice. Macaroni cheese, watery, and greasy at the same time, yams taste like they were straight out of the can. No sugar added not even cooked long enough, was still chunky and had a weird imitation, vanilla extract taste.( I had too smush it around because it was just too big chunks) The greens were not terrible but not good either, The ribs were tough and basic. Their sauce is clearly store-bought with no special touch added except water maybe. The only thing that I can say nice was that the dressing was good, still very dry but somewhat enjoyable. Everything else was honestly beyond disappointing, and with a total coming up to $34 for 2 small plates with no drink I do at least expect to enjoy my food especially from a home, cooked mom and pop type of restaurant. I have recommended so many people to them over the years and ate there so many times before and I haven’t had it for over a year since my last experience was quite the same. However, today took the cake. They don’t know how to smile, like NEVER. You can tell the food isn’t made with love, care or intention, nor are you being served that way, just here to make money now.

Everything was perfect!! Staff were extremely welcoming and friendly. Food hit the spot! You can dine in or take out. There is indoor seating. We traveled from florida, I wish it was closer so we could have it all the time.

Don't waste your money fam...food was outrageously overpriced, I love supporting black businesses but not when it don't go both ways..20$$$$ for 2peices of fried chicken, dressing with no gravy or cranberry sauce and lima beans, and a petite cornbread muffins. Portions was very small. All Profits went to owner, non to the customer. If you can afford to support businesses without a fair return then this is your place, we all have a aunt tee that can whip up good soul food if you would chip in on the food cost.will NEVER go back.

The last time I went to Ed's in phoenix city, al was the worst experience. I cam with 2 of my family member. My food was too cold right from the server line. The employee told a lie about the dressing. They made my two family member wait an hour to get their food beacuase they lied about the dressing being ready within 20 minutes. The cashier had the nastiest attitude and was extremely rude to the customer as well as the server. She yelled at one of my family members because the asked for a courtesy dressing. Last time I check you supposed to treat the customer with respect not argue and yell at them. I was embarrassed for the lack of professionalism in this restaurant and I will never step foot in this restaurant or recommend anyone to eat here ever again.
