A spin-off of the amazing Beans and Greens restaurant way out in Ballplay, AL, I am so happy that Lil' Bean is here in Rainbow City! Beans in Greens has been mentioned on various lists of best restaurants, especially the ones that start the title with "out of the way!" So happily we don't have to drive that far anymore - but we would! This is simply good Southern cooking, and it is in a gas station of all places! Don't let that deter you, because the daily special is always a sure bet (by daily special, you get choice of available meats and how ever many veggies you want.). The sweet potato casserole is a top choice of mine. My son ordered off the menu and got a hamburger and I took a bite to try it, and I didn't want to give it back! Like a homemade burger - but way better than I can make it! If you're super hungry you will want to make it a double though! The food comes out quick and there are tables or you can get it to go of course. Support one of our favorite local lunch establishments! (Open for breakfast too, and it looks very tasty as well!)
