Raw. I ordered a filet dinner. The first attempt was cooked very well.. too well. I ask for a medium to medium well. Honestly, I think the first attempt was a sirloin also. The cut looked completely different. Flat, and tough. The waiter was great. No fuss, took my food back to the kitchen. Then came my second plate. The steak looked like a filet this time. I poked it with my fork and it was tender. Now I'm excited, I love a good steak. I cut a peice open, and this thing "moo'ed" back. It was cold inside. Couldn't have been on the grill for longer than a minute. It was a busy night, and I didn't want to fuss about it. I just took the steak home and re-cooked it myself. This wasn't the waiters fault, so I gave him a healthy tip.I used to manage a large restaurant . As a manager, it was my responsibility to make sure we gave our customers the best service we could. No one came out to our table. The waiter was on his own to handle the situation.I MIGHT give this establishment another chance. But, given our last experience, it will be a significant amount of time.

Senjyu has no local competition and it really shows. The hibachi food is overpriced and the quality is mostly poor and the service is lackluster. I ate at Senjyu for my anniversary and was very disappointed. We ordered the soft shell crab appetizer and got 4 very small portions of a crab for $12. It was barely a single bite's worth per $3. I ordered the Hibachi steak and was not asked how done I wanted it. I received dry, flavorless, well overdone steak cubes with over-cooked, mushy noodles and veggies. The rice was okay. We also ordered sushi: 2 fried and 2 raw. The raw sushi was good, the black dragon roll was mediocre and the volcano roll was good. We went before the restaurant got the dinner rush so busy-ness can't be used as an excuse. When it was time, I had my card on the table ready to pay and the waitress came over and grabbed it saying "Ready for check?" and walked away with it before I could respond. I didn't get to look at the bill before they ran my card. It was very rude. Overall very disappointing.

This is by far the best restaurant in Scottsboro, let alone the best Asian cuisine in Jackson county, Alabama. The owners are amazing people and extremely cordial and make you feel like family from day one. After living in town for 4 years, I actually did not know this location existed until a buddy brought me in for a business meeting over lunch and ever since then I can't stop coming back.I actually recently named one of their new roles called the boro rangoon roll which is a cooked crab roll that will completely change your life for only $7 for four pieces! This is unheard of pricing, especially on there a more exotic sushi and more exotic dishes you're looking at half the price of anywhere else I've ever eaten at - matt, my average lunch or dinner consisting of a bento box or chicken fried rice and two of the rolls mentioned above is $20 even with a tip. This is extremely good pricing for the quality of food and service that you receive. Everything is homemade. Their desserts are to die for the frozen cheesecake is amazing. The list goes on and on of positives about this restaurant. I cannot think of a single negative whatsoever and I strongly urge residents of the area and travelers to both come on in and check it out. You will not be let down! Tell them that jon from Rhode Island sent you !Ps. Fried cheesecake is the best dessert I've ever found in the South and I mean that wholeheartedly!Vegetarian options: Vegetarian options include vegetable rolls, salads, noodles, and some of the vegetable options on other itemsDietary restrictions: There are tons of options here for a host of dietary restrictions. The hosts are extremely flexible on custom making items, especially since everything is made to order.Parking: Parking is located around the building on three sides with approximately 40 spots in totalKid-friendliness: No problem. Bringing kids here. I see tons of kids and it's never a problem. They are never allowed or anything else and there is a great family atmosphere.Wheelchair accessibility: No problem accessing the building. It's all one floor and the entrance in the front and side is wheelchair accessible.

Date night with hibachi is always a hit. We both had the steak and chicken hibachi. Food came out fast and hot only small complaint was no difference in the sirloin and the filet mignon other than the price.

It's a good hibachi place with good sushi. The sushi is a little better than the hibachi and bento boxes, but they are still good. Not really much in terms of atmosphere. That's why I always get take out. I'm just glad it's here because without it there would be zero acceptable Asian restaurants in Scottsboro. Yoshi Buffet is gross, and a buffet. The only Chinese place in town is horrendous, I couldn't even choke it down when I was starving. I'm kind of hoping they go out of business so someone fills in the market space. And then there's "Hibachi Express", something like that, across from unclaimed baggage. If the health department doesn't shut that place down this year I'd be surprised. So overall it's just OK, but compared to the other options in town it might as well have a Michelin star. Also I've never seen it busy, it's in a bad location for a restaurant, so there's never a wait. Someone please start building more restaurants here.

Salad served with plastic wrap from the lettuce, my husband took a bite of salad about the same time I saw it and I pulled it out omg ! They replaced it with another salad , drinks, Long Island Tea was so watered down I can’t believe I was even ID to drink it , what a joke , main course, 2 sushi hit the floor on delivery never to be seen again, food was good but at this point I’m concerned about what we may have ate ??? Never again

Smokey roll was excellent. Also enjoyed the shrimp and avocado roll. My husband had the Scallop and shrimp hibachi combo and it was delicious. The seafood and vegetables were fresh and perfectly cooked. The udon noodles were also really great. The soup and salad were the weakest part- bland. We almost didn’t go inside because it looked dark and empty from outside for a Saturday night but I’m so glad we did! Inside was bright and friendly and there were plenty of people enjoying their food also. The football games were on and the staff were fast and nice. Great experience! We’ll definitely go again when we are visiting the area.

The food is great, my personal favorite being the Hidden Dragon Roll. If I’m not in the mood for sushi, the hibachi is also great to have. Workers are nice, which adds to the experience.
