I've been to Tokyo many times, and I've never had a bad meal or experience here. The food is fantastic, and the staff are always so sweet. I always recommend Tokyo to anyone near Sylacauga, it's my favorite!!

This was our first visit here and we will come back!The clear soup was very good and made in-house. The egg drop soup was excellent. Salads were fresh and generous. The ginger salad dressing , also made in-house was a little different from other places, but very good.I got the scallop hibachi. The scallops were very good and not overcooked/rubbery as you often get. The vegetables were a little undercooked. The sauce was fantastic! The rice was good, and their house yum yum sauce was excellent.My wife got the teriyaki chicken bento plate. The California rolls were generous, and they tasted very good. The teriyaki sauce on the chicken was also excellent. The sweet potato tempura was good, and a nice variation to the rest of the plate.Service was very prompt, attentive, and friendly.

Tokyo is a fine restaurant for those craving hibachi, and other Japanese cuisine during a long ride on 280, and it's just that-fine, but it's not going to 'wow' anyone with its offerings. I had the chicken hibachi lunch special, and my opinions on that course vary dish to dish: the soup was great, with a perfect blend of broth and scallion, but the salad that accompanied it was drowning in dressing. The chicken itself was fine, but the rice was lacking in flavor and included none of the traditional mixings you would expect, such as scrambled eggs or veggies. I think that meal best describes Tokyo, which is a mixed bag but one I would go back to again and explore more of their menu, for they did have a very nice and attentive staff and I really enjoyed the atmosphere and ambiance, which they nailed even though the size of the restaurant is on the smaller side.

I have been completely spoiled by this place. The food is amazing. The staff are quiet, but remember us every time we come in. This isn’t a five star restaurant environment, but the food will put every other Japanese place in town out of business. Try the Godzilla roll. Even if you don’t like sushi, it’s amazing. My wife loves the crunchy shrimp roll. The hibachi chicken and steak are awesome. The kids love the sesame chicken.
Stopped by for stress noodles after the last day of the work for this year, left with much more than what I expected! Very clean, seasoned & cooked just right - really recommend their combination udon(stir fry not soupy) with a side of Sriracha sauce!

My oldest kiddo was so excited when Tokyo opened so that is where we did her birthday dinner celebration. I ordered the sesame chicken entree & it was delicious. The mochi ice cream was taste tested by the birthday kid who claimed it was a "unique taste but not bad."The staff could not of provided a better service. Our server was kind & attentive to our table the entire time. Tokyo is a refreshing addition to our local restaurant scene.
