Came in to order and carry out. Service was very slow--I waited 45 minutes for one slice and fries. After they called my friend's name for her food, she told me she saw my food sitting on the back counter. I asked if that was mine and when they handed it to me both were very cold. They reheated the slice and it was burnt:( so sad

Although a place seemingly just for UA undergraduates, the Standard was somewhere I went every so often to have a cheap drink and a decent (but overpriced) pizza. Unfortunately, the prices have been raised to a point where it is no longer worth frequenting. For example: mimosas (which used to cost $3) are now priced at $7. Keep in mind, these are small mimosas in plastic cups. Overall, it seems to be a Strip "tourist trap," but the students will surely keep the place afloat.Reply for the owner: I appreciate your response; I just have to disagree. Up until my most recent visit yesterday, mimosas were $3 at all times (again, this is just an example). I am not a "student who is budgeting their money." I frequent many Tuscaloosa restaurants for various reasons and Standard was my go-to "cheap" pizza spot. Now that the prices are the same as other "higher-end" restaurants, I will more so go to those with higher quality food and real glassware, silverware, plates, etc.

This is the closest you’ll get to a New York slice in the state of Alabama I dare say. I never thought I’d be a fan of this style of pizza until I tried The Standard. I also love being able to grab a cheap beer and watch some football with friends just a couple hundred feet from my apartment. I wish they’d add some more TVs though! Otherwise, an awesome experience

I'm a native New Yorker, so when I say that a pizzeria is great, I mean that it's great by New York standards. The Standard is great. We ordered several pepperoni pizzas and a Sicilian with custom toppings for my daughter and her friends, and the pizzas were superb. They even got the crust right, which is the toughest part. While talking to the woman at the counter, I mentioned that I missed zeppoles, which are impossible to get outside of the NYC area. When the pies were ready, they had comped me a bag of zeppoles, even though they weren't a regular menu item. That's awesome service!
It's a great sports bar with some of the best pizza I have ever had before. I recommend getting a berry bomb with your pizza. Service is amazing too.

Fun, late night pizza place and bar that stays open late. Pizza is good, and huge! A 20” pie fed three of us including a guy who can really eat and we still had a couple of slices left. You can also order it by the slice. Give it a try.
