I haven't been here in years and it's always nice to see when a place hasn't changed. This is a walk in and seat yourself restaurant and I was glad to see an open table upon entering. The service is prompt and the lunch menu changes daily hence the handwritten menu on a note card that gets passed between table. They always include sweet tea or coffee in the cost of your meal which is, what I assume, a go to for people at a meat and three. Our food came out quick, accurate, and hot which is always a plus for me. You never feel rushed here and any Alabama football fan will enjoy all of the memorabilia on the walls.

Not much to look at inside or out. Packed right on top of each other trying to eat in less than sanitary conditions. Literally was there almost an hour and a half (attention from waitress was all but not existent). Some of the food was ok but other parts weren't worth eating. All and all not a worth while stop unless you have all day and low standards.

We love coming here when ever we are in T Town. The staff and the food is amazing. The biscuits and grits are the best. Today I ordered sugar ham for the first time and it was on point. Perfectly seasoned and great texture. Of course I had to order sausage gravy too. Everything is always delicious. I enjoy all the Alabama photos and specially the statue of Coach Bryant. It's super cool to know he ate there very often. A Big Roll Tide to the entire Staff!

I've visited Tuscaloosa many times, but this is the first time we stopped here. Delicious! I loved the Bama decor! We will definitely be coming back!

First time in Alabama & first time here. The Wayside had a rustic, homey feeling. The coffee was good, service outstanding, biscuits phenomenal. If you prefer your scrambled eggs cooked all the way through - say so up front. Mine were under done. Grits were the best I ever had, but I have only had the 3 times so far. We had the plantation sausage. My fiance loved it, and I not so much. I'm from Wisconsin so they reminded me of brats, but with more flavor. Very filling and satisfying experience. Now, on to Muscle Shoals!

A MUST tradition in Tuscaloosa. Best place for a true Southern breakfast. be prepared to wait on a Saturday or Sunday especially on big crowd weekends but it's so worth it! And the staff will always treat you right.

Always good breakfast. The french toast was great & my bacon was crispy just as I like it!

Wow, I can't believe that it took me this long to eat at this place. Breakfast was great especially the biscuits. Service was friendly and very accommodating even though they were slammed with business.

I use to love this place. The last two visits was horrible... one i literally sat and waited for service. Then they extremely rude. This week drove from centerville with a friend excited about eating there they locked the doors at 145 and close at two. Yeah they let us in again rude and i mean every table was dirty...

two days ago was our first time we visited this excellent restaurant. But It is definitely not the last. We had a good time with the generous service, with the magnificent dishes and booze and with the friendly price. We will surely return there soon.

If you visit T-Town you can't leave without breakfast from The Waysider!

Very very nice people! Eggs were good! Biscuits could have been just even a little bit brown. They seemed undercooked by like 10 minutes. The potatoes/hashbrowns were absolutely not good. I am not an extra salt kinda person but I added salt, pepper and ketchup. They were severly undercooked seemed they had been microwaved or just thrown carelessly into the oven without any seasoning, butter, oil, ect. Then just chopped up with a spoon and thrown on a plate. The orange juice was good. The grits were fine until I found a hair on the side of the plate next to them. This was my second time here. The first time, the biscuits were also undercooked but I was with a veteran customer and she asked for new ones. Those were great! Honestly, the prices are great but I don't think I'll be back.

The atmosphere of this place is 100% amazing and worth coming even if the food was less than stellar. The staff is very friendly and the place is clean and sitting where Paul bear Bryant one sat is particularly awesome. The eggs were good, the biscuit was good, the bacon was good and so were the grits but the potatoes were under done and tasteless, the country ham was so chewy and the sausage gravy was disgusting. Of course when the waitress asked if everything was okay I said “yeah” because I don’t wanna be THAT person but hey, that’s what Google reviews are for! I’d still come again though and that’s saying a lot from someone like myself haha ?

Biscuits were fantastic. Coffee was good. Hot cakes also very good. In from out of town and was disappointed at the nonchalance of not wearing masks. Otherwise, service was wonderful.
