We were at an event at Barber Motorsports. We like local restaurants and Cajun food. Loved this place! The Redfish Rockefeller was superb. Lots of spice, not to much and so well cooked. My husband’s gumbo was great, nice dark roux. We love Cajun food and this was a great example. (And the service rocked)

I don't even know where to start. We ordered the cajun crawfish and queso appetizer. It came out, and was plain white cheese like a Mexican restaurant. We asked, what is this? The waitress apologized and took it back. The manager came, and said they forgot to put the crawfish and seasoning in it. It came back out, and was the same bowl of cheese, that they put a little seafood in the middle of it. Still plain cheese. Now it was cold, but still very runny. Just bad. My wife ordered crab legs. They came out so overcooked she couldn't crack them, and the meat was dry and like rubber. They were very bland, along with bland plain corn and potatoes. We asked for the manager again. He came, and told us the waitress wrote them up as naked. No seasoning. We didn't ask for that! He then told us there was Tony Chacheres seasoning on the table. Really? I can do that at home. I'm paying for Cajun Steamer food. Thankfully, we were at least given a discount. Learned our lesson. We won't come back here.

The Redfish Rockefeller dinner was awful. There was no taste, very bland, seemed to be left overs and was distasteful in appearance and taste. Ordered the shrimp and catfish platter and it was undercooked and the sweet potato fries and regular fries were definitely old and cold as if they had been sitting under a light for hours- stale. This location is not recommended at all. Food tastes very different from the Hoover location. Service was even poor here from waitress.

I ordered the boiled crawfish which were small and mushy. I told the waitress that they were mushy and was informed that if they dropped some more that they would be the same, which made no sense. I explained that I really wanted crawfish and was disappointed. I then ordered some crawfish etouffee, but there were literally no crawfish….. The one thing I really wanted and the reason we were there! I really feel this was intentional! Try and find them yourself in the picture…. NO CRAWFISH. This doesn’t happen on accident. To top it off, the waitress never once checked on us, nor did the manager come by to check. We were nice as can be to everyone there and didn’t deserve this. Horrible experience all around! Don’t waste your money and time here!

The server gave a first impression of facial expressions when we walked in. First impressions mean a lot, so be careful how you look at someone. She kind of ignored us a few times when she passed by us. But she wasn't up front either. We had to wait for a few mins just to be seen by the door. The food was very overcooked. I had the crayfish they were to soft to peel to eat they just fell apart couldn't eat much of them and they are very spicy for a spice sensitive person they should have said something about it or asked. The shrimp were good but tough cooked too long. The place was full of Mardi grass beads.

This is the perfect spot for a date night! Food and drinks were 10/10 and service was even better. Shaman was the best! Shrimp Po Boy, Catfish Pontchartrain, and Boudin Balls were to die for. We’ll definitely be back! Oh, and the check was less than anticipated so that’s always a plus

Great service and great food. We both had the Redfish Rockefeller, boudin, and tuna dip. Was way happier at this location than some others. Benches a little tight for a big guy, though.

A lousy service with barely decent food.

The food is ok, just kinda bland. The crispy fire shrimp didn't have enough sauce on it. The shrimp creole dish tasted like they used cheap canned tomatoes and basic minute rice. The bread was too hard and could have used some butter. The shrimp in that dish was good. I guess for real creole food, I will need to go to New Orleans.
