El Amanecer Market Mexican • $$
1115 S School Ave, Fayetteville

“Rating this based on her food. It is the most authentic Mexican food I've found in Arkansas so far. It reminds me of my nana's food! It tastes like food cooked from her soul! My boyfriend and I get so excited when we order from her. Not only is her food so delectable, but she she brings a new meaning to the word dulce. Every time we call in an order, she always ensures that both me and my boyfriend will be coming by to pick up the food! Brush up on your Spanish speaking because she is not fluent in English, which makes her so much sweeter! Call in your order early because our Maria can be quite busy. She was gone for the holidays and we drove miles to find another place with food as tasty as hers, but it was no match. Her masa is non-GMO and I'm not sure if it's organic but it's the healthiest and most delectable Mexican food I've had in Arkansas. It's a hole in the wall spot, but that ought to be the sign of authentic food at this point! Give her a try! Her tamales are a MUST, along with her gorditas con al pastor, and pupusas! She has taco Tuesdays and they are all $1 each! We bought 12 tamales, 2 pupusas, and 2 gorditas for $42. Honestly the best masa out there and best salsa verde in the game. We will be seeing her very soon! I hope her restaurant blows up in NWA, because she deserves nothing less!“

La Sultana Market Salvadoran • $$
2111 S Old Missouri Rd, Springdale

“This was my husbands and my first time trying out the restaurant. We had always been curious about the food and today we decided to give it a go. Although they were out of lengua, all and all it was worth coming and trying it out. Plus we were still able to figure out what else we wanted to try. I had never heard of or known about pupusas so my husband decided to try it. I love gorditas so I order that and one taco Al Pastor. I tried my husband Pupusas and they were so yummy and the gorditas we're very satisfying. I had had pastor before but this pastor meat was different and I loved the spices or seasoning that they use, it was different in comparison to what I have had, but very delicious. We will definitely be coming back. I told husband that we should try and come back for dinner. Not sure if we can, but we are happy that we finally decided to give La Sultana Market a try.“

“This place stole my heart. I was so looking forward to having nice tamales. Being a vegetarian it is tough finding food . To add the plantains were made to perfection. The hibiscus drink was surprisingly refreshing. I recommended this Salvadorian place to my colleagues who were not aware of this location but are now after my feedback. The place was buzzing with locals either dining in or takeout. The owners were kind enough to explain to me what each dish was made of . Oh I wish I got more tamales for the road .Vegetarian options: Corn tamales, plantains, hibiscus drink“
