This farm is fantastic!! Our kids (5,3,2 and 9 months) had the best time milking cows, feeding the animals and collecting chicken eggs! Grace was so sweet and patient with our kiddos and all of their questions! Ruth was also a fabulous host and cook!! I highly recommend staying here and planning all your dinners here as well! Staying at night and enjoying the hot tub while looking at the stars was an added bonus to all of the fun we had all day! Cannot wait to visit again!

Dates: Aug 21-24thFamily of 4 - wife, two children (1 and 4 y.o.) and myselfWe recently moved to Arkansas, and with the month of Aug off until my wife and I start work, we'd been looking for a place to take our children to show them what the night sky is supposed to look like.Well, we didn't get to do that because we were so spent at the end of the day that we were all promptly asleep by 8 pm.Nonetheless, the experience that Ms. Ruth, Gracie, and the "Reluctant Farmer" provided was one for the books.Pros:(1) Hospitality - bar none. Ruth and Gracie truly take pride in what they have cultivated for the past 16 years. It is not an easy feat to do the work required day in and day out to not only care for the livestock and the vegetation but to also demonstrate their talents and skillset to every person who visits with them. I don't know how they do it, but they're absolute rockstars. My family and I felt welcomed from the moment we drove down that driveway until the moment we left.(2) The food - wow. Just clean eating. No preservatives, no fluff, no artificial anything. Absolutely wonderful. Delicious breakfasts and dinners. My wife and I have eaten at fine-dining establishments, but we would rather eat here every day. They make it so easy to just relax and enjoy every bite. They had things for our boys to entertain themselves with while we could just enjoy finishing our coffee. Just such a thoughtfully curated experience. I ate until I felt sufficiently full, and there was still more food to be eaten. We don't have dietary restrictions, and we're glad that we didn't. At baseline everything is gluten-free, but nobody would be the wiser. Absolutely phenomenal. They went so far as to make bulgogi for us for one of the dinners. It was Ms Ruth's first time cooking it, but she could've fooled us.(3) The location - it's a working farm with the full circle of life clearly visible at every stage. What a lovely reminder for my wife and myself, and an unforgettable experience for our children. The guesthouse where we stayed was just down the road - very well-furnished, air-conditioned, has a hot tub that we did not use due to the weather just being so warm. We took trips to Rush Landing to a small creek at Ms Ruth's suggestion as well as to the Ozark Folk Center and to Blanchard Springs Caverns on each of the days. The drives are all each around 45 minutes or shorter.Con:(1) We picked the wrong time of the year to visit. Too warm. This place is not just a business for them - it's their livelihood, and they just love to show it off and share it. They have every right to do just that. This place is something special. We would love to return. If you have a chance to stay with them, please do.

If you haven't yet, you must try Dogwood Hills' homemade ice cream. I purchased the lemon yesterday. It is melt-in-your-mouth delicious! So creamy with butter undertones. It reminded me of lemon custard. Nice to sit on the porch with a bowl of Ruth's ice cream on a hot summer day. I highly recommend it!

The place was pretty neat. The owners were amazing, and super friendly. I was hoping to see a larger garden...but it's been very hot and dry here. Thank you Thomas, Ruthie and Grace!

Love love love this farm. The best experience I ever had on a farm. The guest house is huge with 3 bedrooms and fully furnished bedrooms fully equipped kitchen; awesome view. Morning chores of: feeding chickens and ducks, feeding cows, learning milking techniques and actually milking a cow, collecting eggs, learning about the process, listening to welcoming hosts about the process, meeting 7 guard working dogs (I personally fell in love with Maggie), and did I say the mouth watering breakfast. Ruth and Grace were nothing but amazing people that made us feel we belonged. It’s a must to visit.
