I always love the food here and the people who own it. People always complain about the hours they're open but they don't understand that the family who owns this restaurant have a life outside of it. The hours won't be exact and if you're worried about the restaurant not being open, just call.

Visiting this weekend for a little getaway and stopped in for the first time but definitely not the last! First, the family was so kind and welcoming! The food was outstanding! Support this business-they deserve your support and you deserve great food and friendly service.

A very welcoming friendly place to grab a good old fashioned Southern plate lunch! Usually just opened on Sunday. Check your website or Facebook page to be sure. You select your choice of me and vegetables in a short line greeted with very friendly staff.

No indication on their page that restaurant is closed. Walked nearly 2 miles in the heat to get there only to discover a locked building and no sign despite indications they are opened on Saturdays. UGH!! Update your darn website!!

When you walk in the door, you are stepping into this family's home. The friendliness, the food choices and the flavors are like a big hug. We will have to go back repeatedly to taste everything, but cannot imagine being disappointed by anything. Great idea for them to put the desert in a seperate container, you aren't going to have room for it with the meal!

This place never fails! Black owned soul food that really feels like comfort. Mac and cheese is perfect and every dessert never fails! Literally hits…

Traveled from Houston, TX to try and experience this restaurant. Restaurant was not open. We asked the flower shop next door and they mentioned that they have not seen them for weeks. Very upsetting since we traveled far to visit. No signage on door or on Facebook mentioned that they would not be open during their listed hours. Very upsetting.

This place and the family that own it deserve more than 5 stars but I am limited by Yelp. We arrived at this family restaurant about ten minutes before they closed on a Saturday and they were so kind and welcoming. The food was amazing and just like grandma used to make. You could tell real love and care went into the cooking. Our party of four had some smothered turkey, fried chicken wings, and baked chicken along with fried cabbage, Mac and cheese, roasted broccoli, and cornbread as sides. The strawberry cake was so good we ate some there and bought some to go. We also got the last of the peach cobbler and it was amazing. They change the menu throughout the week and we all said we wanted to come back and try the hamburger steak and meatloaf! So good!

I don’t understand why all the rave reviews. My family ate there a few months ago on a Sunday. It was a buffet then and the food was terrible. It wasn’t being replenished and some of the food was dried out. I got brisket and it almost wasn’t edible. All I know is that it was not good that day. Only bottled drinks and water. Plus I was over charged. I think it was $11.95 and my total was over $18. I think it was because there was a child manning the register. Am afraid to try again.
