My low rating is only based on ordering a delivery. I have never eaten inside and I have only tried food here once. I wanted Asian Cuisine and decided to give Yamato a try. I ordered a side of Miso Soup and Vegetable Yakisoba. My fiancé had Chicken Yakisoba. The portion was generous (as much as I feel like you would get anywhere else.) The flavor was extremely underwhelming. There was virtually no flavor to any of our dishes. It tasted like bland, fried noodles and that was it. We added some of Bragg's Liquid Soy Aminos (a soy sauce) to add more flavor to our dish. We did eat what we ordered but we will not eat here again due to the flavor inconsistency.

If I could leave zero stars, I would, and I'm mad at myself for not reading reviews before ordering from here.ETA: My husband has food poisoning from this whole experience.I ordered takeout for myself and my husband this evening and picked it up at approx 6:30pm. After opening the sushi to eat, we discovered that it tasted as if the rice and raw fish had both gone bad and could not eat it. I called the restaurant to let them know, and when the girl who answered the phone told the owner (her dad), he started yelling. I sat for a couple of minutes, listening to him yell in the background before I offered to bring the food back to them for a refund. When I arrived back to the restaurant, I was informed that since we had taken bites (one of which I spit back out in the tray because it was so gross) that we would only receive a partial refund. The owner spent the majority of my return visit yelling and hollering, throwing his hands around because I brought the food back. Since returning home, I have felt sick from the three bites of sushi I ate. In checking reviews for the restaurant after the fact, I discovered that this is a regular occurrence (old food being re-served) and pictures of the filthy dining room as well as a picture of a rat behind a booth. I don't know how or why this restaurant has not been shut down.

Family owned very nice people. Try the ginger dressing on your salad! It's so fresh. Hibachi beef and rice is always good. Been going here for years.

We ate here Saturday 3-11-23 after a softball tournament was rained out. Staff was sweet, but the food could have been a lot better! And we wouldn’t have ate here if we would have seen the rat before hand!! It wasn’t a small one either!

Staffs were nice but sushi rolls were tasteless. Not that they tasted bad but just doesn’t taste anything like seafood. All I tasted was cucumber and cream cheese. We went for dinner but the lights were barely on and it was kind of scary. Maybe this place has different atmosphere during the day ?

They got hurt by Covid, but they still know how to cook and are super sweet people. Food was really good but zero atmosphere. They need help, not judgement. Please help them to come back.

Tonight we celebrated my birthday here and were very pleased. The place is not in the fanciest building but it is more than adequate. I feel the reviews above who’s main complaints are with the atmosphere are too harsh. The ambiance is fine especially considering the price of the food. Let me be very clear when I say that mediocrity ends there. First off, the food is excellent and authentic. We ordered the spring rolls, kani salad, miso soup, Yamato roll, spicy salmon, spicy tuna, and Philadelphia roll. ALL of the food was wonderful. The couple who seems to own the place, cook and serve the food, and check you out at the end were absolutely delightful and charming. We experienced expedient and enthusiastic service and a delicious meal. This place is a winner and we will be going back.

Posting on 10/2/22 I will never visit this restaurant again food wasn’t fresh and service was depressing. The condiments and yummy sauce was cheap or out of date and the dining experience was like eating in a dark room that they didn’t pay their utility bill. Such a shame and very disappointed.

Ordered takeout, not impressed. Won't be back. Rice was obviously old, soup had no flavor and tofu was obviously old, chicken hinachi had zero flavor, Rangoon was stale and flavor lacking. Sushi was less than impressive. Not worth the money at all.
