Mr. Chen's is one of the few local Chinese restaurants offering anything approaching "real" Chinese food. The sautéed sweet pea leaves, pictured below, are one of my favorites, and just not available at the many Americanized Chinese restaurants in our area. Yesterday, we also ordered chicken lo mein and shredded beef bean curd with cilantro, both of which were very tasty and are photographed below. Someone who hasn't been to Mr. Chen's previously may find the approach to the restaurant through a grocery store redolent with smells a bit off-putting, but what waits inside the restaurant will be worth the trip through the store entrance. Wait staff can sometimes be a bit less than engaging, though usually solicitous. None of that may matter when the food, which is always delicious, arrives on your table, however.

Very authentic feel and my bean curd with pork and bamboo shoots was amazing! We had hot tea with our meal and want to try the hot pot next time. The entrance to this restaurant really takes away from the atmosphere, but the food was unbeatable.

We've eaten here several times and it's always been good. We had the hotpot this latest visit and while the idea and experience was great, I personally was not a fan of the broths we got. To me there was an odd aftertaste. Everyone else liked them though and would recommend trying it. I recommend it too! Next time I'm just going to order of the normal menu which is absolutely fantastic! The basil chicken is a go to for us.

For Little Rock, my boyfriend and I were impressed by the authentic home-cooking this place had. We ordered water spinach to start, and it was really flavorful and well cooked. Our beef lo mein was filling and delicious, and we even had some to take home. Service was good, we had two ladies help serve and get dishes out of the way as we continued to eat. The restaurant was very homely and cozy, but not the most clean.

This is my go to Chinese restaurant!! It is always clean and the food has never disappointed. My favorite dishes are their egg drop soup, rice noodles, and sesame shrimp. Of course, you can’t go wrong with any of their chicken dishes either!

We had dinner here recently, and their food tastes ok. But my experience was marred by the waiter's (an old lady ) unprofessional and their impatience. From the start, it was evident that the waiter struggled to provide insights into the menu. Their lack of knowledge made it challenging for us to make informed choices. We ordered the food with the name on their menu, but she used a different name to confirm with us, which made us confused. She didn't only realize it was her problem but also displayed impatience and face expressions of blaming us for the confusion (Excuse me? What's wrong with you?) Further more, she even commented that the dishes we ordered were not enough for us, which made us eventually order more food than we could finish. In any restaurant, a knowledgeable and courteous staff is crucial to a positive dining experience. Regrettably, our encounter with this particular waiter fell short of these expectations. I hope that Mr. Chen takes steps to ensure their staff receives proper training to provide customers with the exceptional service they deserve. Otherwise, your guests will be forced to never return.

This definitely was not our cup of tea. Me and my boyfriend order 1 chicken fried rice EACH. He got the orange chicken. I also had got 2 egg rolls, all to go. paid $50 and couldnt eat any of it. The chicken in the rice was deep fried? I didnt even eat the chicken because of how off the smell was. The rice was dry and unseasoned. The orange chicken had this smell neither one of us could get past. Huge pieces of meat, with actual orange peels? My boyfriend did taste it and immediately spit it back out. The egg rolls were decent but still couldnt finish those either.

Had my first experience here and was impressed with the food quality and freshness. We had sesame chicken, General tso's chicken, and crab rangoons. Everything was made to order and the service was excellent. They do Hot Pot too and will be back to experience that too. This is some of the best Chinese in Little Rock. Their grocery store is amazing too. Lots of fresh seafood to purchase there that you're not going to find in your local Kroger. A lot of bang for your buck!

Our favorite restaurant. We have never been disappointed. Everything is always prepared to order from fresh ingredients, so they can accommodate special dietary needs or allergies, or suggest an alternative from the menu. We like the warm, quiet, inviting atmosphere and the very personal service.

Missing items in our order. Filed a complaint on the Uber eats page and was told that we wouldn’t be credited. I sent pix and everything. Whaaat! The dish we did get was the orange chicken. The chicken was overdone and the more I chewed the bigger it seemed to get. The crust and sauce had a good flavor. The rice was very bland!
