Talk about a place that made it through Covid and the test of time Shorty Smalls on Rodney Parham has done it. I can remember going there to watch Monday night football and have the crew of 105.1 playing their radio games and it was the best rocking place in west Little Rock but since I have moved away I haven’t been the most regular customer but it will be back. We came to Little Rock this evening to the Little Rock Zoo to see the Glo-Wild which was really good and worth the ticket of admission. We had decided to go out to eat and several places were mentioned which Shorty Smalls was not one of but when we called around and the wait was 1-1.5 hours and we were were already on 430 we decided on Shorty Smalls and it was well worth it. We had a party of six and were seated very quickly. The waitress was very fast in taking out drink order and our food order. We all had something different which was still in the epic portions I remember. All our orders were made to order and came to the table fresh and hot. For what we ordered the price did not seam out of line. Great blast from the past Great place in general good food and good people working there.

BEWARE! If you order the larger chicken fried steak you better have several hungry friends waiting to help you eat it. This is the biggest hunk of meat on a platter I've ever seen. It took two big boxes to carry the leftovers home. Not only was it ginormous, but it was tender, perfectly cooked, served quickly and delicious. The beans were sweet and well seasoned. The Cole slaw wasn't on my top ten list. The ribs and fries were delicious too.

Remodeled to enter through side of building. Still basically the same inside. Mozzarella sticks are a must. The stuffed potatoes are a nice addition..this is chicken fried chicken and gravy..yum. Shared with a friend and still more than enough food.

We ordered lunch at this location and split a chicken fried steak, it came with fries and slaw. When we got the food it looked great, but there was only 3 bites of tough meat in each half, the rest was a doughy crust that was covered with sausage gravy which tasted terrible. The fries and slaw were good. Spoke to manager and showed him the evidence and he said "yes we have had trouble with meat shrinking. " I said you have to have some meat to shrink! Today's lunch was definitely not the usual fare. All other visits have been good.

My wife and I went in for an early dinner, our waiter was fantastic, attentive without being intrusive. He made recommendations and answered questions about appetizers and sides. His recommendations were spot on. The food came quickly, and was plated beautifully. My drink was never allowed to go dry and he waited until my mouth was not full to check if everything was OK. All around 10 of 10 highly recomend.

This place is a staple in Little Rock! The country fried steak is my favorite. I had the ribs today they were falling off the bone. I had the fried twinkies as well. They would be better to have dining in vs take out. You should eat them while they are hot. The young lady that took my order was very nice. I had a great experience.

This particular 5-piece appetizer in Little Rock, Arkansas is the absolute BEST mozzarella cheese stick selection in the state. Hands down. Larger than they appear ? ?

Waitstaff was inattentive. We went in at 11:30am on a Saturday- there were only 4 other tables and 3 servers. Had to wait 20 mins for drinks after I asked twice. Appetizer: Cheese dip was good. Lunch: Hubby got the chicken fried steak, it looked great - but when he started eating it we realized that it was mostly in seasoned batter and that it wasn't cooked all the way. Mushy flour surrounded a poor excuse for steak. Gross. I got the chicken croissant sandwich. It was good- but it's also a sandwich - hard to mess that up. Had to ask twice for our check and the waitress was still super rude. So all in all paid $50 for crappy service and 1 good sandwich.

I used to love Shorty Smalls, but my experience today has changed my view. We ate brunch here for the first time and was extremely disappointed. Our server did the best he could. He said he was new and we sat at the booth that was in the corner by the bar and kitchen. Everything that I asked him for I saw that he went and asked and came back to tell me that they were out.

Parking was available and easy. Was seated right away, took 30 minutes just to get drinks ordered asked for lemons never received them, and another 20 to order our food. Place seemed to be short staffed. At least it's a clean environment, and all the servers are running. Food was very fresh and tasty. Cold drinks for more than reasonable prices. Side salads are good sized and very delicious
