We were there with our large group. The service and sandwiches were good.
What a great restaurant! Such a treat located in a beautiful state park. It’s a perfect place to stop after the Cedar Falls Trail. They had some nice local wine that was good. The food was also great. We had chicken fried steak, fried pickles, hamburger, chicken sandwich, and quesadillas. The brownie sundae is pretty awesome! Get there early and ask to sit by the window. You may even get to see the groundhog that lives in the grassy area by the restaurant.

Took a long while to be seated, then another long while to get our food. However, our orders were taken quickly and we were given drinks. Stephanie is a very good employee. The salad bar is good but the fries are absolutely awful. Burnt, soggy, oily. Get mashed potatoes instead. Again, Stephanie did a great job.

The views are awesome. The service was very friendly and quick to respond to requests and kept us filled up on iced tea. They had a buffet the day we went, and the chicken was prepared and breaded in house, the brisket was solid, and the green beans were particularly good. All in all a great experience when we went to catch the 2024 solar eclipse here.

Great place to have a meal and take in the scenery.
There was a short wait to get seated when I got there, but the staff were awesome and on top of everything. I got the meatloaf special that included green beans, mashed potatos, and a bread roll. They had run out of green beans by the time I was there but I'm not a green bean guy so I was perfectly fine with double mashed potatos. The meatloaf honestly wasn't the best I've had (my stomach also didn't agree with me wanting to eat the meatloaf bc I was dehydrated) but I won't take a star off since I haven't tried anything else here. On top of everything, theres a fantastic view of the sunset outside the large windows of the dining area. I thought that the individual ladies that were serving folks were very nice, smiling, welcoming, and always seemed responsive to requests, but when it came to following through with anything it took excessively long or was never done. I was really expecting something nice from this one time visit but seeing the chaos around me and seeing other customers just isnt going to encourage me or anyone to come back. Think the issue was the place being short staffed but then don't sit so many people if you are going to create an unhappy environment. Again the ladies were really nice atleast and the food was ok ?
