“The drive to get into the national forest is very nice and beautiful. Definitely a place to get away from the city. Very peaceful calm and quiet. The rooms seemed to need to be cleaned a bit more and within the 1st 5 minutes we must have killed close to 20 flies. In fact we seemed to be constantly killing flies during the entirety of our trip. This location is close to multiple crystal mines. The cafe here is very affordable and the home-made pies are delicious. Staff is also very friendly. If you're looking to do any fishing or hiking there are plenty of choices to do so. Would happily stay here again.“
“We stopped in around 3pm for a late lunch with a group of six. After reviewing the massive menu we ordered at one of the two outdoor windows before grabbing a few tables inside. I got the double cheeseburger combo and that burger is awesome... Comes loaded with red onion, lettuce, tomato, pickle, and mayo with a side of fresh, hot fries and a medium drink. It was perfect, but I couldn't help but glance over at the fried catfish that another member of the group ordered... There are about six picnic tables outside if you want to enjoy the nice weather, but no matter where you sit save room for that ice cream cone for dessert! Parking in front and along the left side of the building can get full because this place is awesome! Well worth the stop when you're in the area visiting or simply driving through.Kid-friendliness: Clean space, family-appropriate decor, good music and sports on TV.Wheelchair accessibility: There is a short ramp at the door but it may be difficult to maneuver indoors. Outdoor ordering window is easily accessible.“
“Mt Ida is such a unique little town. It may be small but they have some of the best food! I had a pulled pork sandwich because the waitress recommended it. I know why! Some of the BEST smoked pork I've ever eaten! Very friendly staff, which is getting hard to find.“
“On the way back from Mount Magazine to Dallas we decided to stop in here for lunch. It wasn’t what we were expecting, but still turned out great. It’s small and it was very crowded but were able to be seated quickly. The food was good and we loved the wam brownie and ice cream for dessert!“
“Great little diner! I highly recommend it! The food is super tasty and the staff are kind, thoughtful and accommodating. Breakfast and lunch are both tasty. When we asked, they even packed up sandwiches for us to go to eat at the mine and the attention to detail was exceptional. EAT HERE!“
