Now I’m not necessarily a negative person. Yet, this review comes from the bottom of my heart. The food has gotten slightly better over the last two years, which is where the two stars comes into play, but I still get an upset stomach once a week. The faculty at JBU even roasts their own caf. The food is lower than mid and could be used as a method of punishment in Guantanamo Bay. In contrast, Deb is an amazing person.

I had raw chicken one day. And then maggots for flavoring in the dessert

So... are they trying to get me to die?

Many of these 5-star reviewers aren't students. It is unreal how bad the food is here. If I had known how many times I'd get sick from the food, I would have seriously considered choosing another college. Most of the food is hard and stale, and it's a running gag that the caf will stretch the same batch of meat over a week or more. Not only is the food terrible, it can be dangerous. I bit into two separate chicken bones in my sandwich the other day and couldn't finish, not to mention the numerous times I and other students have had food poisoning. As a student with food allergies, my options here are extremely limited already (as the caf does little to accommodate) but they have significantly slashed our food choices this year due to Covid. I'm starting to wonder where our meal plan dollars are going.

Creative Dining Services catered my daughter’s outdoor wedding in the middle of a global pandemic, and our guests were raving about the delicious food. The service was top notch. Catering director, Cindy, executive food service director, Christine, and executive chef, Patrick, exceeded our expectations. Frankly, the entire catering staff as a team exceeded our expectations. Just wonderful!

I spent a week at JBU for a camp and had to eat their food all week. I believe that every person should have to eat food from JBU for a week, as it will make them thankful for literally anything else they ever eat. But for real, I couldn't have been more disappointed or disgusted by the food. Typically the food was cold, or stale, or so hard that you couldn't bite through it, and yes, my chicken broke 3 plastic knives. Don't even get me started on their wannabe salad bar. It typically consisted of: lettuce, carrots, and ranch dressing. And to top it all off, we had the EXACT same meal every single breakfast. We came home with multiple students sick from the food, or their refusal to eat the food (I don't blame them). So, if you're interested in eat at JBU, pass it up and head on over to Burger King, yes, Burger King.

Very ok. Depends upon the day and the rotation of meals each semester. Fall of 18 was fairly decent, Spring of 19 is a swing and a miss.
