10 Best Cafes near West Memphis

WHEY GOOD Coffee Shops • $
150 Shoppingway Blvd, West Memphis

“My sister and I spent the night in West Memphis on our way from Austin TX to Louisville KY. The hotel coffee was very, very watery so we made our way to Whey Good. What a find! The place was absolutely darling as they were beginning to decorate for the holidays and adding a small boutique of very cute wares. The staff graciously filled our traveling coffee carafes. Once we got on the road we took a sip of our coffee and were ecstatic that we had found the best coffee since we began our travels two days ago. Thank you Whey Good for starting our day off right!“

“We had the amazing pleasure of having Journey, Azelyn, and Kai as our baristas. They were kind, funny, and just all around amazing. They gave awesome suggestions. The atmosphere is perfect: colorful, cozy, and comfortable. I won’t bore yall with pictures of me and my husband in the mustard color chairs, but this is definitely my favorite coffee shop in Memphis.Kid-friendliness: My kids had such a good time. They offered us non-espresso versions of the frappes and chocolate milk.“

Memphis Chess Club Coffee & Tea • $$
195 Madison Ave, Memphis - 7.63 miles

“This place was perfect for a caffeine intake and to hang out for a bit. They had lattes, beer (coffee beer!), mixed drinks (espresso based drinks) and foods. My family spent time trying different drinks and playing different board games. Drinks and playing "Settlers of Catan" is the recipe for a good time. I should say the staff was very nice on our visit.“

Bourbon Mocha Latte

“This cute shop nestled inside Hustle and Dough is pet-friendly! I saw quite a few well behaved pooches lounging comfortably at the feet of their owners. The layout is living room-esque with lots of seating options for single, duo, or friend groups to gather. The lady at the counter recommended the Bourbon mocha and helped me customize with Oat milk since aim dairy free. It was HEAVENLY! The mocha was mixed with a slight spice and the sweet warmth that just slid down my throat to warm my belly. I enjoyed it thoroughly and can’t recommend enough.“

Blu lyte lounge Cafe • $
3940 Sedgwick Street, Memphis - 10.64 miles

“I was there for a private party. Not sure if it's a actual lounge or an event center. But it's quite large with two rooms. One has a bar and what looked like a dance floor. The second room was slightly smaller but was more than ample for the party of fifty. Could have had better lighting. I would recommend it to someone needing a nice place for a get together.“

Drip Coffee

“If you want good smooth espresso coffee this is the place. I got myself a salted caramel latte and I can definitely taste the espresso. It doesn't leave a bad after taste in your mouth and doesn't taste burnt. I like sweet, but I like my coffee too. It's got to compliment each other and this is it.“

“Wonderful little cafe on main street. Great open space, solid food, it's definitely a treat from some of the craziness in downtown.I've been going here on and off for awhile but haven't been back in awhile as I've moved. The manager (I assumed) was fairly rude and did not add to the otherwise welcoming atmosphere.Instance 1) When I asked for the WiFi, she was very short with me and I didn't even understand what she was saying because she spoke so fast (for context, the cafe wasn't particularly busy at this time and my ability to hear and comprehend things are pretty solid). No problem, just used my hot spot because she made me feel like a nuisance and I didn't want to interact with her again.Instance 2) I was sitting outside, staying after open (never came here much on the weekdays and didn't think they closed at 2 pm, simple misunderstanding). The manager came out while I was in a virtual meeting and took the number I was given earlier for my order. Again, since I didn't know they had closed I assumed she was just collecting it. She came out about a minute later and very rudely told me to leave, clapping her hands and raising her voice. Apparently, when she initially came out she had told me that it's time to go. I've worked in the service industry for 5 years, I know it's annoying when people stay after close, but her reaction was just unnecessary and discourteous as I obviously had not heard her the first time (was in a meeting, headphones in). I am always happy to vacate and certainly respect closing times, again, just a little mix-up that didn't need to be escalated.I'm not one to think everyone in the service industry should "act like they want to be here", I know wages are low, customers can be rude, we're in hard times economically. But it costs nothing to be kind and gracious. Instead of acting in that way, she just went straight to being impolite and uncivil.“

A Square Meal Cafe Main American • $$
220 S Main St, Memphis - 7.35 miles

“I can't tell you the last time I received service as good as I did today from Chef Derrick. A friend and I met there for lunch. Chef Derrick was so genuinely friendly and talked to my friend for a while. Then he gave him a free full size dessert before we even ordered any food. Even though I think there were only 3 employees in the restaurant, Chef Derrick came around to our table several times to check on us and even asked me if I would like some more fries! I mean, this is not "endless fries" or a buffet so who does that, really? I can tell you one place that does and that's A Square Meal. The food was great but tbh, what really sold me was the amazingly personable and caring service. How often do you leave a restaurant thinking, 'man, I can't wait to go online and leave this guy a 5 star review, tell all my family, friends & co-workers about this place and come back again soon and often.' Chef Derrick is quite simply the kind of guy that makes you want to come back and frequent his establishment just to help his business.“
