First of all, never would have guessed this place was here! Watched a TikTok and saw this recommendation saying to skip Dutch in the same parking lot and head to New Penny. Soooo glad we did! Had a coffee date with my AZ bestie and drove 1hr to get here from North Scottsdale. My gf is on the westside. Walked in and immediately appreciated the welcoming environment. Very open and spacious with tons of seating including outside on the patio with a cabana-like setup. Super cute. The menu is huge with tons of not only coffee drinks but boozy ones too. I tried a new menu item - the Elote Avocado Toast. Yumm!! It was topped with pickled onion which is definitely a favorite of mine. The elote part of the toast was exactly what I was expecting. I also tried their highly favored Zebra coffee which I got iced. Sooo stinking good that I drank it slowly all morning. I paid for it last night with going to bed later lol, but it was worth it. My gf got a coffee which she also loved and oatmeal which was scrumptious too. The shop inside of local vendors was a lovely touch to walk through especially while you wait. I think everyone in Avondale must stop here because there such a wide range of people from Mom’s brunching with their babies, to grandmas/grandpas, to Firefighters ;). I highly suggest visiting and I know I’ll be back. Maybe next visit we’ll have time to walk the grassy area just outside with the bridge over the pond.

Breakfast, lunch, and snack options were plentiful. We came here for breakfast twice on vacation because we enjoyed it so much the first day. They offer many coffee/tea drinks all at very reasonable prices by comparison to Starbucks. The first day I had a smoothie bowl and a latte (pictured) and the second day I had the avocado toast and a different latte, all were great. The avocado toast did have honey on it though which I could have done without. The rest of our group had the burrito, the protein bowl, the French toast, and a few bagels over the two days. Everyone enjoyed their food. We sat on the outdoor patio both days which was very enjoyable - the atmosphere inside and out were comfortable and inviting. Servers were friendly and quick. Overall, 5/5!

I went here after I ordered from Door Dash a week prior and like what I had. So based on that, I decided to get up early and take my girl to this new spot to try it in person. First of all, I recommend getting there early as the tables fill up fast. It is not a long wait as people mainly are ordering quick bites along with great coffee. They have so many coffee concoctions, juice mixes, and few takes on alcohol. It does not stop there because they have some very tasty food fare that is similar enough to other breakfast items but altogether different at the same time. It is their take on good and they do it very well, I must say. I had the Blvd burrito with bacon. It has bacon, egg, hash rounds, cheese, and a chipotle sauce that brings it together nicely with just the right amount of kick! I also ordered hash rounds that came with a fried egg on top, a melt cheesy seasoned sauce, green chile salsa, avocado, and sour cream. My girl had the chicken n chicken sausage with cheese and a freshly made biscuit that was well received. She had the regular coffee and I had the whipped and blended espresso coffee. Alyssa was our server and she made sure we had everything we needed. New Penny Cafe is a newer place but one that I will frequent when I am up early and out and about.

Uugghh where to begin well first off the big boy bagel sandwich is by far the best thing I’ve ever had it’s my go to all the time with an iced chai latte with toasted cinnamon cold foam. Another thing i don’t know who the heck makes that salsa but that thing is amazing it honestly reminds me of my moms only the one here is not spicy at all. If you haven’t had this place what are you waiting for

My granddaughter ordered the copper penny. It was so good and the serving was big. Definitely coming back to this place when I’m in the area again.

Took my daughters and a friend out for breakfast because we were in the area. Food was spot on and my (plain) coffee was good. It was really busy but the staff were friendly and working hard to serve everyone. They have laminated menus when you walk in so you can read details while in line. I had the Becky sandwich on sourdough, one daughter had the same but on a bagel, another had the kid's yogurt Sundae which came in a waffle bowl and had plenty of food, and our friend had a chocolate caramel tarte that had fancy gold leafing on it.

The space is clean, the service is nice & fast, and the food & drinks taste great! The atmosphere is kind of boho-industrial, and they have a little gift shop section.I recommend the seasonal tiramisu latte and the burrito (it's big!).
New Penny has become one of our favorite breakfast spots. The food and drinks are top notch, and the service is always friendly and quick!
