We have passed by this restaurant many times wondering how can it have fresh seafood in the middle of the desert? Finally the curiosity got the better of me. I pulled into the parking lot. The dining room was very clean. The decor was mild Asian. The chef and the waitress were very nice. I ordered the sashimi appetizer plate and was pleasantly surprised. It was very good. I also ordered the shrimp tempura which was ok but it was more like the frozen shrimp you get at a supermarket. I also ordered the heated sake and it complimented the sashimi. I will be going back to try their other items on the menu. I will recommend Maki Sushi to my friends. The fish were excellent.

Been here on the order of once a month for almost a year. Food was pretty good (and HUGE!), and service WAS good. This time, we walked in, and the raw sewer smell that hit was intense (literally, not dramatic!), we up and left before we even looked at the menu. This was not a slight "sorry about that, just happened, we are working on it" situation. ANY business that has that smell, let alone that concentration, should have been self-closed pending repair/cleanup. But a SUSHI restaurant open for service in that stench is quite worrying.

My first time in this place, I order jalapeño bomb and a crunchy roll, so I got the Jalapeño nd it was bomb, now my crunchy roll wasn't a crunchy roll it was a california roll, I told the lady/owner that I did not liked it and that it was not what I order, because a crunchy roll amd a california roll are very different so I told her that it wasnt the crunchy roll because the crunchy roll has temp shrimp in it, she said I will not comp it, well I never asked for it to be comp, I just wanted the roll I order because I did not eat the california roll I have never liked them never will, but she just told that she will not comp, I belive that she is racist and I really dont get why?both of us are minorities ? I also got the garlic edamame it was just steam ademame with salt on top.. Easily the best sushi I’ve had in my life (that includes sushi I’ve had in Japan and Hawaii)! This is a hidden gem that more people should know about. We’ve been going here for 10+ years and have never been disappointed. The rolls and nigiri/shashimi are HUGE! The fish is always fresh and delicious. Gregory is the chef and his wife runs the front and serves guests. If they are busy, it may take a bit longer too get your food, but I promise it will be worth it!
