I keep seeing the super long lines at festivals and I really wish that people knew what they were paying for or waiting in line for... It's really sad that "food" is being sold for Instagram purposes only.So if you missed it, these buns are hardly edible. They're salty and taste like soggy Play-Doh with a little bit of ground meat mashed in. There's literally no flavor other than sodium. You are waiting in line for a handful of soggy bread-like material.Step out of the line now and save yourself the $$$!

We tried this place at the Chinese New Year festival at MCC and the siu mai and bao were super salty.

I've been looking forward to trying this place for a long time but unfortunately we had a bad experience. I went to their stand at the Tempe Arts Festival this weekend and they were definitely busy with a consistent line. We ordered two bao buns - the Japanese style ground pork and the teriyaki chicken character bao buns. AFTER ordering and paying (with tip) we were told we would have to wait 15 minutes for the teriyaki chicken bao. If I would've been told this when I was ordering, I wouldn't have bought it. They did not offer to refund my purchase, but they offered to give us something else. The person I was with decided to switch it for the tofu bao instead of standing and waiting for 15 minutes. The tofu bao wasn't even a character bao, just a normal one. Very disappointing, especially because we were told what we ordered wasn't available after we already paid and tipped. Neither bao was good and we ended up throwing them away. I wish I was offered a refund and I would never come back or recommend this place.

Lethally tastes sooooo good it also looks so cute along with that the area looks so pretty the costumer service is also above Average. It does take awhile to get your food but so worth it.

Wanted to like it because of the enormous line. Got to the front of the line and ordered three plain char siu buns (no special designs/characters on them) plus a drink. Walked away spending $49. The buns were alright but nothing incredible. Definitely not worth $12 per bun.

Hands down the worst food experience from a super hyped food pop-up that I have ever experienced... These character buns are from Hot Bamboo, a local restaurant that makes it's rounds (and does really well) at all the Arizona festivals. I believe they are pretty big around California and Nevada too. Anyway they have been on my list to try for years but the lines for their booths are always way longer then I have the patience to stand in...until last night. I decided to wait. I got two buns, one Japanese style and one Teriyaki (to which I agreed to wait an additional 30 minutes for). While incredibly instagramable, they were the most disgusting things I have ever eaten. My stomach is actually turning as I think about them writing this review. It was the equivalent of eating wet playdough with a little bit of half flavored meat squished inside. I don't post this lightly either as I rarely meet a food I don't like...but yeah DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY. Again this is just my opinion as they are obviously popular but I don't think it's because anyone actually likes eating them...they are just for snapping pics.

Char siu Manapua and Chicken terriyaki Manapua. I wanted to love this place sooooo much but, unfortunately I didn't. I will give 5 stars for the CUTE bun designs! HK is my favorite so, of course I was so excited! At, $10 a bun-looks and taste is a must. This booth was at the Prince Kuhio festival this past weekend in Henderson, NV. We ordered 4 buns and 1 serving of butter mochi. 2 char siu buns-the filling was extremely salty and very fatty. The bun itself was definitely over steamed. By the time we got home it was rock hard. I tried to resteam but it was too late. 2 terriyaki chicken buns-no taste at all and once again the buns were HARD. Butter mochi-consistency was more cake like vs. the sticky dessert I am used to and no flavor. Overall, I should have thrown my $50 in the trash.

This place has adorable baos and if you are a fan of BTS, definitely someplace you want to go. The food, flavor is not very tasty. Novelty good and would definitely order the bao for a party, but not just for random dinner. The bubble waffles are not good. Ambience & Fun Absolutely but taste.... Pretty BAD. We got baos:chicken & tofu, spam musubi, and chicken dumplings - dumplings tge only part of meal I enjoyed. Everything else really was BLAH. It was pretty pricey too. Definitely not a good deal for the money

Such a charming restaurant!!! A great find in Chandler for people craving Asian food. The buns were so fluffy and flavorful! The employees were so kind despite crazy busy hours. Totally worth the drive!! Will definitely go again!!

Service was great and the buns were super cute. Seems like it would be great to take kids. The buns were not as soft and decadent as I was hoping and likely from the added coloring and kneading. The flavors were okay, but nothing to make you want to come back. I did enjoy the Thai tea!

Went and got bao buns today on mine and my husbands 1 year anniversary and he is currently struggling with food poisoning from the cha-sui buns. Will not be going back.

Love these character buns! The teriyaki sauce which is optional was very delicious. They even have boba drinks which was nice and refreshing. Anime toys and Star Wars backpacks

The service was absolutely horrible. The girl at the register had a careless, lazy attitude and made it out like it was impossible to make fresh food. There was no music or anything making the atmosphere really awkward and uncomfortable. We went to sit down and the tables already had someone else's crumbs on them as well. When we finally got our food, they came on the smallest paper plates and the girl didn't even tell us were to find the forks, chopsticks etc. We walked out the door in silence no "thank you" or "have a good night".

Nothing like getting your hopes crushed. Drove a 30 min drive to come get the Star Wars baby yoda foods and the two girls working were SO RUDE. This was my first time here I had been wanting to come and we walked into a dead silent restaurant with the rudest girl taking our order. She was so condescending and making it seem as if we were inconveniencing her by ordering the Star Wars items and not what was pre made. We told her we were willing to wait I just didn't order ahead because... well I've never been here? We came around 7pm they don't close until 8? I'm shocked by all the good reviews because our experience was anything but. Not saying the food has to be a work of art but for $19 and a real poor attitude for disfigured baby yodas was kinda a waste. Prob won't be back anytime soon.

We first had their yummy treats at the Scottsdale farmers market, and we've been craving it ever since. We drove all the way out to their brick and mortar location tonight and it was yummy. It was even worth me being car sick on the way there. My favorite bun I've ever eaten was here.
