“Popped into Callaghan Vineyards as we had heard great things from the locals at the fuel station close by. What a beautiful place. The staff had so much info to share. I fell in love with the Pink sparkling wine called Barrett. Couldn’t recommend this place enough.“
“Isn’t it wonderful when the owner takes the time to share her expansive knowledge of winemaking and varietal harvesting? We had a blast and learned so much! Thanks Katie you are the best. And I love the creativity in the labels and wine names. We can’t wait to come back.“
“Absolutely amazing! I loved every wine I tried. I joined the wine club because I just had to have more! Brooke, the owner, and her team were so welcoming and genuine. The tasting room is absolutely beautiful and the view... Highly recommend!“
“We used Elgin Winery for our wine selection at our wedding. Gary made us a custom label for our toasting wine. We absolutely adore it! We already love the wine and everyone who works there, but they went above and beyond to make sure we were happy and had everything we needed for the wedding early so we wouldn't stress.“
“We loved our tasting experience at Sonoita Vineyards. We’ve been able to visit 10 wineries in the area so far, and Sonoita Vineyards has the best wines! Their grounds are beautiful. Love being able to go into the barrel room! Very cool. All around great experience. Will definitely visit again when in the area!“
“Salvatore is one of the few wineries in the area showcasing Italian varietals. We liked every single wine we tasted, from the full-bodied rosé to the super-Tuscan blends to semi-sweet extremely drinkable ports. In fact, we had a hard time choosing 6 different bottles to buy. The dog-friendly tasting room is beautiful and chill. Desiree was so friendly and engaging. We will definitely be back.“
“Lightning Ridge Cellars is a beautiful winery in the Sonoita/Elgin area. It is unique in comparison to others in the area because it also serves/sells olive oils and balsamic vinegars. You can follow up your wine tasting with an olive oil/balsamic vinegar tasting! Their olives are grown on the property, so you can see the trees (and the resident donkeys) when you visit. Their balsamic vinegar is the BEST I have ever tasted - we're always sure to load up on it whenever we drive down. Their wines are good, and the service is excellent. It is located off the main stretch, so make sure to carve out some extra time to stop by Lightning Ridge - you won't be disappointed!“
“Delicious estate wines; my favorite is the dry Riesling. Ann is a fantastic hostess, welcoming and informative. You will be greeted by wine dogs Opal and Symeron, both friendly and calm dogs who add to the relaxed ambiance. Hannah's Hill is off the beaten path, off Hwy 82 almost next to Rune Vineyards-look for their flags on the Hwy!“
“Karyl and Kevin are great people to know. Very welcoming and friendly. Karyl is the wine maker and I enjoy most of her incredible wines. She has whites, reds and a rose, 3 sangrias (my favorite is the Arriba with prickly pear, passion fruit and a hint of jalapeño), and multiple flavors of port.“
“My second visit here, first was for my bachelorette party, second was my best friends 40th birthday, and we had an absolute BLAST!! Fantastic small plates, wonderful wine, and even better service! Thank you so much, Fanny, for making our experience special and memorable. We will always return.“
