We went of Saturday night and everything was sooooo yummy!! I'm back in Phoenix and craving ElCapitan! Wish we lived closer but I definitely have my new go to dinner spot when in flag. The Magic margarita is pretty and yummy, Tacos Dorado sooo good! All staff was chatty and friendly (we sat at the bar so had interaction with everyone).

Loved the experience. So happy we chose this place. It was a beautiful night and we sat on the patio. Staff was awesome. Owner greeted us too! I recommend the Margarita Lily. Food was sooo good. The green salsa that wasn't green is delish!

Southwestern place our hotel recommended. They were doing take out only so we placed our order at bar and sat in lobby for the food. From what I can tell it was a pretty cool and possible fun atmosphere in the establishment. I got the chicken quesadilla meal which was two slices and originally thought "that won't fill me up". But it was stuffed full and very much did. Taste level was pretty good. The salsa was kinda bland. So a better salsa for it and it would of been much better. My oldest daughter got a California burrito and the wife got a classic chicken burrito. To quote the oldest daughter "it was good" me "care to elaborate on that". Her "it was good". The wife said about hers "it was alright...I mean it was edible". So take that for what it is worth. Two of the younger girls got the kids mexi Mac and cheese. They are portions of it (they both hardly ever eat a whole mean. They nibble like rabbits). Due to checking on yelp I got a free fried ice cream. Thanks Yelp!!! Overall we were mainly satisfied. It hit the spot. We are ok a cross country road trip from Kentucky and was curious of the south western/Mexican food in the actual south western part of the USA would be any different. From what we could tell it was pretty much the same. Due to covid restrictions and the national pandemic we weren't able to get the full experience. But the food did hit the spot.
While visiting in May and June of 2019, and in May 2017, stopped in. The Cheese Crisps and Chile Relleno's were wonderful. I will definitely return the next time I'm able to visit Flagstaff.

I've eaten at El Capitan many times through the years and it is always delicious. I was surprised tonight by the to-go only option, but not surprising given the corona virus precautions. The food was hot and fresh and as good as always. I highly recommend this place!
