Food price went up by two to three dollars per plate, portions were quite a bit smaller. 4 at a table, asked for a second basket of chips so that we wouldn’t have to reach over. We were told that would they would charge $.99. Much different experience. I had been out of town the last couple of months. Used to be my favorite place. After this experience I will never go back. Super small tamale, cheese enchilada and mostly beans and rice. Almost $18

Went for Taco Tuesday. Only have 2 items eligible for this. We're informed that there's charged additional $1 for extra for additional chips while it was 5 of us and they gave 2 small baskets. Not a good approach as it creates grumbling among other companies on the table. But they didn't ended charging us for 2 additional small basket. So just FYI...Waitress was great though. Ordered street taco which taste okay, nothing special

I honestly wish I had never stopped by this fun house of a restaurant. Walking in, I was greeted appropriately but told it would be 5-10 minutes. Confused, I leered at the ocean of open tables and sat on the bench to ground myself. After being sat, I looked at the menu. The prices look a bit high...I'm thinking at a glance. Then I saw it. A taco. A standard taco. $7.00. Beef, cheese, lettuce, and what can only be described as a gargantuan handfull of tomatoes, the size of a major league baseball. Taking a look at the rest of the offerings, the rest of the tacos ate 9$. A singular taco. Maybe enchiladas, I think. What's the price of a standalone cheese encilhlada, you ask? Ten bucks. This feels like I'm on the Vegas strip or a sports event. The food is decent and the salsa is good but getting a singular taco with very minimal meat and "salsa" that is only a whole roughly chopped tomato taking up most of the volume for ten dollars is wild to me. A ten dollar tomato taco that someone whispered the word "meat" to in passing. I go out to eat very, very often. Way more than I should, and the price vs. value here is the worst I have ever seen anywhere. If you like Mexican food, but are also allergic to money being on your person, come here. If you want mexican food that tastes 5x better for prices based in reality, I could point out a dozen places to stop before you consider walking through the door here. Shout out to the server, though! When I joke asked, "Am I seeing this right? That's a singular taco all by itself with absolutely no other items for ten dollars?!" He immediately broke character, and it was a good interaction.

Excellent Mexican food with a distinctive flair. The prevalence of mango makes everything better! The outdoor patio is our favorite place when the weather is nice. Be prepared to pay $15+ for an ala carte burrito, with combo plates in the 20s.

First time at this restaurant, and I was very happy to sit down to lunch with my husband this weekend. Chips and salsa were brought out immediately as our server Marta quickly greeted us, asked how we're doing, and what we'd like to drink. I ordered the signature Gecko Margarita on the rocks with salt on the rim, and it was delicious (and brought out so fast, I had barely picked up the menu). The tequila has a nice kick, but doesn't overpower the flavor at all. It went down very smoothly, and I was definitely tempted to get another! The verde salsa was unexpectedly sweet, but in a good way that really enhanced my experience and expectations. The salsa tasted very fresh and paired well with the tortilla chips (which were also made well). The red sauce is okay but it's a bit on the mild side for me. Still good, but I'd have liked a spicy option. My husband ordered the crab rellano and loved it. One of the first things he noticed and mentioned is that it's real crab and not imitation. His favorite sides are always beans and rice, and I have to agree the sides were good here too. It's hard to mess up beans and rice; it maybe isn't the most glamorous item on a menu, but it's a wonderful staple to any Latinx dish. I ordered the seafood chimichanga and couldn't believe it had pineapple in it. I love pineapple but I really should pay more attention. It was a wonderful surprise because it was sweeter than I expected for seafood, but amusing and delicious. They must use cream cheese because the texture is so gooey and rich and guaranteed to send me into a cheesy goodness coma. I also liked the bar's setup outside. I wish I could have taken more photos, but I don't want to photograph people because that's weird, but there's a fountain off to one side and the bar straight ahead as you walk in. The bar is gated off, and shaded tents are set up so patrons can enjoy the beautiful spring weather without the sun directly in their faces. Great experience and service. Definitely recommend!

We stopped in on a Tuesday night around 7, and they had just shut down one of the dining rooms, so we had to wait a few minutes for our table. That turned out to be a blessing as they allowed us to sit out on the patio, which was much better than the bright lights and noise of the main dining area. Although we were the only guests on the patio, they turned on the heater and provided us with great service. The chips and salsa, our drinks, and our main entrée were all delivered quickly, and were all very good. We'll be back and will definitely request patio seating.

We have come here for years. Won’t be back. Manager won’t accommodate food preferences like they have done for years. Prices have gotten out of control and manager is just rude to customers. Save your money and go to Rosa’s in Mesa. This place has gone downhill. Unfortunate!

Something has changed with the food over the last year. I wouldn't go back.

I ordered burrito - come to find out it has no topping. Nada. Just the burro and a little lettuce on the side. The burro filling wasn't that great either. Nobody in my party of 4 was impressed with the food. Too much money for too little food. There are way better places to go than here. Oh, and they are charging for extra chips and salsa.

We went to eat at the Gecko Grill in Gilbert and had an extremely horrible experience with Samantha who claimed to be the "supervisor". Our food was late as the kitchen didn't put it in with the full order. When asked to speak to her she was rude, condescending, absolutely no people skills. If this is who you have supervising your establishment how sad. She has no business being in an industry that caters to customer service as she has none. We will never go back to eat at this place. When you take your family out yo eat you have a choice. We the consumerr pay for good food and service which she has no idea how to conduct. What a shame to her someone so inexperienced and rude portraying your establishment.
