First, the food, pastry, cookie, coffees were very good! No complaints there other than everything came out so damn slow. The service absolutely sucked. Waitress pretty much disappeared after we ordered. She forgot to put our coffee orders in so there was a longer wait for that. Had to flag down other staff for more drink orders and to eventually run our tab. The place was not busy, and our server stood in the back most of the time just chit-chatting. I don't feel one bit bad about not giving her a tip :)

Garbage. Food took over an hour. No silverware when it came. Food was cold and I should’ve taken a picture of it. People next to us were complaining as well. Shut it down. You couldn’t pay me to go back.

Excellent little eatery that we enjoyed for my wife's birthday. We came in the back door and the décor was bright and clean. We were greeted by a very friendly staff person who let us choose our table outside. They offered my wife a complimentary pastry for her birthday which was a kind gesture and she chose the Lemon/Lavender donut (excellent) while I picked up the sea salt chocolate chip cookie. (one of the best I've had) The waiter came over with a craft of water and glass which is a classier touch and took our order. Wife also chose the Moroccan coconut loose leaf tea which is also highly recommended.Food came out pretty quickly for a busy Friday brunch hour and the food was cooked really well. My poblano verde benedict was really tasty and way better than expectations. The smash round potatoes are also a welcomed twist to your normal breakfast variety. The wifes grilled cheese was cooked perfectly with crispy bread and more than enough cheese to keep you satisfied. The tomato soup however was not to our taste. It has a blended canned tomatoes taste which was a little ketchup-y. Added a cream base or something to tame the bitterness might have helped but to each their own.Overall, great place, great food, and surprisingly for DT Gilbert, really great pricing. Whole meal with tip under $40. Will return again.

On Easter Sunday, my family and I had the pleasure of visiting Prep and Pastry for brunch for the second time. With only a 25-minute wait, we were soon seated and ready to enjoy our meal. I opted for the Beni, which despite being a bit cooler than expected, was bursting with fantastic flavors. My wife ordered the Burger and was pleasantly surprised by how delicious it was. The fact that a restaurant known for its brunch also serves an amazing burger was a delightful revelation. I highly recommend trying it!My daughter chose the Biscuits and Gravy with chicken, and we were all blown away by the impeccable seasoning. The addition of the chicken elevated the dish to a whole new level. Meanwhile, my other daughter stayed true to her favorite and ordered the Avo-toast. The unique blend of herbs and seasoning took this dish to a whole new level, making it stand out from the typical avocado toasts. To satisfy her craving, my 93-year-old mom ordered her go-to: the BLT with Tomato soup. The buttery toasted sourdough bread and the flavorful herb aioli made for a delightful combination.I must also commend the wonderful service and staff at Prep and Pastry. They worked seamlessly as a team to ensure that all the guests, including us, had a pleasant dining experience while enjoying the amazing food. And let's not forget the croissant donuts – they are an absolute must-try!
Me and my friend came here to try a cute brunch place. We got the French toast and the plain jane pancakes with a side of scrambled eggs for each. Price was $45 without tip. Upon walking in, everyone seemed very checked out, very bland expressions. Server was just nice, doing her job. Food took a min of 15 min to come out, eggs were unflavorful and cold, while the main entrees were good, also borderline room temp. Tasted okay. Overall 3 stars, mid place, there’s better places to spend your money.

The managers of Prep and Pastry, Kim and Liz, were so accommodating when I scheduled our daughter’s Baby Shower at their place yesterday. The reason I was so appreciative was that I was planning it for the Gilbert location while I live in TN! Their help and flexibility was great in covering all the party details and menu options. At our request, they set our group’s tables out on the patio and the lighting turned out exceptional for our memorable photos.
