“I spent my 29th birthday here, and I couldn’t even picture anything better. The staff were extremely attentive and made the entire experience so special! This is the perfect spot to celebrate any special occasion. Also, each one of the dishes my friends and I ordered came out tasting amazing and the drinks were also all wonderful!“
“Here from MD and my cousin brought me to this location for happy hour. It was fairly empty when we arrived so we grabbed seats at the bar immediately. I ordered: Pink bikini (2x) - 10/10 delicious, just the right amount of sweetness without turning your stomach Slider trio - fish cake was spicier and thinner than I expected, lamb was delicious, the burger I couldn't eat. The onions had a very weird taste to them so I couldn't get it down. My cousin had a beer and fish bites. The bites were amazing, they had great texture and were served with what I believe was a lemon aioli. It was the perfect pairing. I'm into tequila so my cousin asked the bartender to try something new and we took shots of the fortaleza repasado which were really good, along with another that I wish I could remember. I didn't enjoy it as much but it was still decent tequila. If I find myself visiting again I'd def come back here for sure. They have a great happy hour menu and enough variety to try a bit of everything. The environment was both adult and family friendly, the bartenders were great and the patrons were as well.“
“Wow!!! And I mean WOW!!! There's an incredible restaurant right next to my shop and I have never had Caribbean food before but I am all about local businesses supporting local businesses! I was presented with sample of the curry chicken and jerk chicken and I couldn't decide so I had to get both. One with rice and peas and one with yellow rice. I'm im AWE with how much love, soul and flavor is packed into these meals. 10/5 ⭐️for me. I'm so blessed to have this incredible restaurant so close to where I spend most of my days!“
“My partner and I were on a Saturday afternoon walk through the area and stumbled upon this unassuming plaza which also had an Ethiopian restaurant. We checked out both places and the moment we walked into Island Sensation Cuisine we were sold by the meat patties in the warmer behind the bar. There was island music playing in the background and overall it was an inviting place. We ordered the beef patties as an appetizer as we waited for our entrees to be prepared. The pastry on the beef patty was perfectly flakey with a flavorful beef filling that had a kick behind it. The perfect starter for the oxtail & curry goat that was on it's way. We were the only customer dining in at the time so service and turn around time was great, if you're familiar with the traditional service at Caribbean restaurants sometimes you can be waiting for a minute for the entrees to arrive. This wasn't the case at Island Sensation Cuisine. Our meals were beautifully prepared. The oxtail was tender and the gravy was so flavorful and provided the meat with a perfect layer of moisture. The oxtail easily fell off the bone and the gravy didn't feel as heavy as other restaurants may prepare it. The curry goat was cooked very nicely as well; the meat easily shredded and separated from the bone. The curry wasn't necessarily the yellow color I have experienced in other restaurants but the flavor accented the meat beautifully. Between these two entrees I would definitely have both again, but I'd choose the oxtail over the curry goat based off of flavor profile and meat quality. We also ordered a side of plantains (not pictured) that were a nice sweet accent to both dishes. Overall I'd give Island Sensation Cuisine a 4.4/5“
“This place was AWESOME!!! This was the first time I tasted Jamaican good, and when I say it was amazing, it would be an understatement. The atmosphere was great, our waitress was wonderful and the music was live!!! Will definitely be going back!!!“
“They were at the farmers market and I asked the man what I should get. He made me plate. I've never had Jamaican food to compare, but I am certain this place easily ranks up there. The Jerk chicken was moist, spicy, and absolutely amazing. The plantains were slightly sweet with savory undertones. The greens were on point. The black beans rice, something I've had many times, was among the best I've had.“
“It has been updated since the last time that I was there. It was over a year ago. I was giving them another shot. The food was delicious. I was not disappointed. I was greeted and waited on in timely manner. The music was bumping on a Friday evening. I will definitely return soon.“
“The tamales were very tasty but they need more meat please! Even so, the dough is super delicious, I didn't like that they give rice & beans with tamales, at least I'm not used to that. The champurrado was very thick I wouldn't have it again but I would come back for “
“Hands down the best Jamaican food in Phoenix! I cannot get enough of their jerk chicken and plantains. The owner, Raymond, is a very cool down to earth person. The food had such an authentic taste and I highly recommend you come have a meal here with your friends and family!“
“Literally the best place in the whole country for true Caribbean cuisine. It's truly authentic and straight from a long line of family recipes. Pure island seasoning, meats, vegetables and fruits. They make their own gingerbeer and have the best island atmosphere. I'm telling yall, you in Arizona yes but as soon as you step through that beautiful door you are transported to the Caribbean Islands. They are a true must have at all times. I hope they stay in business FOREVER!! I LOVE CARIBBEAN CUISINE!!“
