Was not impressed at all with the food. The omelette. Was nothing to brag about, there was nothing to it. Just like two eggs (if it was even two eggs) cooked and folded in half. Hashbrowns were cold and tasted liked crap. I will say the sourdough toast was very good, but you only get one slice. For what an omelette cost I would have thought you would get two slices of toast. Coffee was good I will never eat again. For the price it wasn't worth the stop. Much better places around area with better portions and better prices and get more.

Food bland. Had omelette with mushrooms and onions. Mushrooms marinated/oily and onion was tough onion skins marinated. Not tasty. Toast was good. Service was good, nice , cordial servers Ambiance ok - room crowded with a couple to many table and chairs. Tough to maneuver around. Can't imagine what it would be like with a bunch of people. Tried this place twice...just not good. I first had Matt's Big Breakfast in Phoenix about 9 years ago. Food/Ambiance and service was excellent, what happened? This restaurant is in my neighborhood, won't be going back.

I worked downtown for years and the wait was always so long at the location downtown I never made it to check them out. I've always regretted not just waiting and being late to work ha ha. Today my son and I decided to drive over to this location in Glendale for some breakfast. I was surprised to find it easy to find parking and even better we had no wait to be seated. The menu is small, but everything is fresh. My go to is typically eggs Benedict, but it looks like it's only a Thursday special here. Another go to is blueberry pancakes. We scored there and my son and I decided to share a stack since we both wanted the Hog and Chick meal which is two eggs with a choice of meat ( I chose bacon), hash brown and toast. Everything came out so quick and looked phenomenal. The bacon was thick, peppered and amazing! My eggs were cooked perfectly. The hash browns were fried well and the sourdough toast was delightful. It was thick and the melted butter made it even better. The toast was served with strawberry compote. The pancakes were fluffy and nearly ate them all. We were so full by the end. Service was ok but could've been a bit better. It was pretty slow to get a refill etc, but when the server came around she was friendly and gave us her attention. The vibe was good. Pretty basic breakfast stop, but bright and doesn't feel as small of a location as it really is. Prices were fair and even with the extra stack our bill came out to about $40 before tip. I'll definitely be back to try some eggs Benedict as well as the biscuits and gravy.

I love Matt's Big Breakfast! The staff is amazing!! I do not know how they make pancakes taste so good. I normally put peanut butter on my pancakes, but not at Matts, they dont need any. The eggs are the best, I normally don't like eggs. But Matt's the best eggs I have ever eaten. I love the preserves both, the blue berry and strawberry. My husband and I go every weekend and are never disappointed!

Great food and service. I loved the sourdough toast and homemade preserves. The blueberry pancakes were delicious. I’m glad we sought this breakfast spot out. Ate too quick to think about taking pictures!

I've been eating at Matt's since they only had the one little location downtown. I don't understand the negative reviews on here. Matt's is the best breakfast place in the valley. The food and service are excellent.

We’ve been to this location a handful of times, with every visit food and service quality has dwindled. I would have liked our plates to be on the fuller side with the prices they charge. The attitude of the waitstaff is always a hit or a miss and seem rushed with little attentiveness. Won’t be returning for a while.

C grade at best. Hostess was good, friendly. Waitress opened with "are you ready to order?", not hello, or can I get you some coffee. We had barely been there 2 minutes. Noticed her checking cups (for cleanliness?) and putting some back on the shelf. No offers of refill water or coffee till after meal. Food is overpriced for the quality....$3.49 for a single slice of toast? Not worth a return visit.

Too much cooking oil left on food would be my one complaint.

Thus is my husband's absolute most favorite place to eat when we are in Phoenix. They do a pretty delicious waffle, which is his go to. I did an omlette this last time and that was great too. The orange juice tastes fresh squeezed and the service was top notch. My husband has been a loyal customer for a number of years and hes definately made me a fan.
