Where do I start... I have been looking at this University for years now as I may be interested and that all changed. I had called the admission department to ask a question about their Dentistry Program and the lady hung up on me before I could even finish talking. If that is how they treat people over the phone what makes anyone want to even attend their programs!

I visited Midwestern for a Lasik proceeded with Dr Robert Fintelmann, I chose to do this due to the fear I had about having someone laser my eyes. This extreme fear comes from a childhood experience I had of almost going blind in my left eye. My thoughts were, who better to perform this procedure than a MD Ophthalmology specialist with many credentials and years of experience. So I made arrangements to have lasik. I was sent to a procedure center called Carrot Lasik in Mesa. I arrived, had a short exam, they took me to the surgery room, I laid on a table where the laser cut both my eyes then moved to the table to have the procedure done. As Dr. Fintelmann began to open the flap, he couldn't seem to lift the cornea. As my partner stood at the back of the room watching this happen on a large screen, he sees a girl in the room texting rapidly. He thinks to himself what is she doing on the phone?? Then I'm moved back to the other table he cuts the one eye for a second time, still cant open it!!! Thank god Im on some loopy medication or I would have freaked out!! After second cut he tries again to lift the flap, nothing. Im then walked back out to the first room so he can look at my eyes in a magnifying machine. He takes me back to the other room and says we need to abort, Im causing too much irritation and puts a bandage on one eye and sends me home. Next day Im instructed to come back to his office at MIdwestern. I get in a room for him to examine my eyes and remove the bandage. He then explains what happen, he says he called the manufacturer of the machine and learns he did not have the correct "cone" size, basically cut my cornea but not deep enough to open the flap, and says, I will never make that mistake again...ohh thank goodness I got to be the example for that!! He did offer to perform the procedure again or I can be reimbursed. This was a horrific experience so I chose to be reimbursed! I expected to here from his coordinator first thing that next day but did not!! I had to make several attempts before finally getting someone on the phone to find out how and when I would get reimbursed. Literally the worst Experience ever!! I did go have a check up with another specialist because I didnt feel that I was a priority concern, seeing how he had class to teach. Other Doctor said my eyes would heel and all blurriness and dryness would stop in time, basically eyes need to heel from some cutting and poking around to try to lift flap. This other Specialist is well known and also told me that he would never have done lasik due to the thickness of the cornea, based off of his machine and years of experience. I still have dryness today but thankfully I can see. I decided to do this review finally because after this Experience and a few other things that have happened, I have decided going forward to always do a review so people can make good decisions about who they see for care. This was absolutely unacceptable especially for his background. Who can really really put our trust in????

yesterday (9/12/22) I took my dog to Midwestern University Glendale for a scheduled appointment after receiving a referral from my Veterinarian to have some imaging completed for my dog. upon arrival, I was told I would need to wear a mask. I explained to them that I will not be doing so because it is no longer required by the State ir County and no longer part of CDC guidelines. Cloth masks as a matter of Scientific fact do not prevent the spread of airborne respiratory virus. This a widely known after what is now several years of inaccurate advice. This institution should not be trusted to care for our beloved pets when they can't even manage to maintain the most elementary scientific standards. I chose to spend my money elsewhere and certainly advise others to do the same rather than "comply" with their misinformed rules. As an Air Force Veteran im not prepared to hand over my Civil Liberties to public or private institutions that feel they can strip us of our Constitutional rights. HOW DARE THEM!

The campus is brand new and has high tech. The faculty is nice and care deeply for the students. There are pet friendly housing which is great for the vets as they have and train service animals. The only tough part is that this is a commuter campus so there isn't much life outside of classes. That being said, there is an intentional effort for people to get to know others.

They are so rude here......tell you one thing then tell you another based on who is in charge. Faculty is inept

I didn't get an eye exam here, so my review is just about frames and lenses. First, it's pretty pricey. Some of the most expensive glasses I've bought in a while. But the quality shows, and another customer told me she gets many years and lens changes from her frames before needing new ones. So in the long run the cost may be similar to cheaper ones. The person helping me, Courtney, was fantastic. Great attitude and super helpful. She was the only person there, yet juggled three customers very well and everyone got attention. She did a great job with selecting frames for my needs and then with fitting them perfectly. After a week of wearing them I noticed that I'd forgotten I was wearing them (partly because they are super light, partly because she fit them so perfectly for my head). They are a CareCredit provider so you can get a year no-interest financing on the glasses and services.

It's a nice school for many graduate programs. It's a pretty big campus but not too big where you would get lost. I think the buildings are all short walking distance. The faculty is really nice and they seem like they are easy to talk to. It's a very clean campus too. Their dental, eye, and vet clinics are right across the street in walking distance. The classrooms are decent size with a nice new look. The desks are a good size. Their labs are nice with new equipment and they have a nice cafeteria and a library. We mostly went around the optometry area. They had a couple big lecture halls or auditorium where they would hold their white coat ceremony. It's a nice newly look campus. The only down side is that parking can get difficult because they are all taken.

we are using their dental program. It is a process you have to go through but it is so worth the time. so very pleased with everyone there and my son really likes his students that work on him.

This review pertains to the psychology department. I interviewed for the doctoral program. There was no application fee but they conducted a day long interview for the doctoral candicacy. While I concede that they had few positions open for their doctoral candidates, the interviewing faculty and student advisors were biased against non-philosophy majors and even male students. This was evident by the lack of credentials by their existing students conducting the interviews and the over emphasis of philosophical principles grilled to interviewees. Additionally, I believe that applicants from the wealthier part of Phoenix were given acceptance because of the absurd tuition fees. I don't recommend anyone apply to this program from the Phoenix area; especially from a "pragmatic" perspective on psychology.
