We’ve stayed a couple nights at the hotel. The hotel is not affiliated w the restaurant and can not/ will not offer assistance in the restaurant realm. We ate in the saloon last night. Food is fine. Don't expect some culinary experience, but for a tourist town, its fine.Tonight, we went down at 5:30 and they asked if we had a reservation, which was laughable, as its an odd place to associate w reservations - I mean wings? Really? But the laughable part was that there were 3 tables filled of about 15 and the bar had NO one. So, we asked if we could eat and/or make a reservation. We were a family of four. They said they could seat us at 7:45.They said that all the tables were reserved, at some point. We’re well dressed and hotel guests, so its not like our appearance was a red flag. And, again, we ate there last night, similar time.We were told that a new manager is in charge and she likes reservations after 5. She told us that at 6:30, people were coming in. I thought, well, it is march madness, maybe she’s got the place on fire at 6:30 tonight. We went elsewhere, came back about 7:30 and stuck our heads in, pretty slow going in there.Maybe there’s one dude in the kitchen so they can only serve at 25% capacity?Otherwise, it makes no sense, and the manager is losing money for the bartender, waitstaff and owners. And, breakfast buffet, in case you’re curious, is fake eggs and bagels off the cisco truck. It was depressing. We also tried Foodie Club, I would absolutely repeat that move. The eggs were real, they have fresh OJ and a staff thats actually moving.

The service and atmosphere definitely wasn’t that bad, but the food wasn’t as much as good. I got the country fried steak ($32), and overall it was very bland and the steak wasn’t edible. I’m writing this the next morning after feeling quite sick from what I did eat.Maybe it’s an understaffing issue? I just can’t give much leeway to a place with prices like this.Don’t waste your money, a rock from the canyon will taste better than a meal here did.

Having eaten at many restaurants all around the world and experienced some of the best service and worst. The list of errors in the order were off the scale and the seeming lack of interest from staff incredible .. would rate the service in bottom 3 ive ever experienced .. What food i did receive was ok however with maybe one complaint that the starter was a little cold.. Can only hope this was a bad day at the office for them and that staff training in hospitality is looked at by management..

I cannot understand the bad reviews. Every time we had our meals there, our experience was great. Our server Kee was great the first time and on our last night she still had her professional attitude. Her warmth and the food at this establishment made our trip so great.

My husband and I dined here for dinner last night and it was incredibly disappointing. They were out of half of the menu items, and what we did receive was NOT worth the sky high bill. The cheapest steak (and the worst cut) started at $38. My soup was lukewarm, watery, lacking flavor, and clearly not made in house (if it was made in house they should be embarrassed!). Save your money and go somewhere else, they are clearly completely coasting at this restaurant and not serving quality food because they have a guaranteed stream of business from the hotel patrons. Our server was the only good part of the experience, he was quite kind, personable, and attentive.I’d highly recommend visiting El Tovar Dining Room if you want fine dining very close to the Grand Canyon. Our meal there was great.

Easily the most pretentious restaurant I have ever been in! When we first arrived there was no one at the host desk. Within a minute three different people came up saying that the person that was supposed to be there would be with us in a moment. Several minutes later one of those people finally seated us. It is a large restaurant and there were only two other tables with occupants. We were seated in the back in a booth so that we could have some "alone time", per seater's comment. Which would have been lovely, except we had four different people besides our server constantly coming up and engaging in conversation. It was massive overkill! Then they were out of the first two beers that my companion asked for. The menu is small, which is common for upscale restaurants and usually signifies wonderful food. Not so here. Incredibly mediocre food that was incredibly overpriced! Not worth it! Then as we left, we overheard the reappeared host tell two people just coming in that it would be a 45 minute wait. Only two other tables were seated while we were there! It was an almost entirely empty room, but they were going to make people wait to be seated? And this was a Thursday in February (not peak season).Mediocre & overpriced foodOverkill "service"Pretentious atmosphere

I’ve eaten dinner here twice during my stay, once in the restaurant and once in the bar. Both were excellent experiences! Delicious food and fabulous service. Plan to have breakfast there tomorrow.

A bit pricey for food that is good, but nothing to write home about. We had the 1/2 chicken and the trout.

We ate very well. The burgers were delicious and the peanut/chocolate tart was just exquisite. The servers are very friendly. The bill is still very high 2 beers, 2 burgers and a slice of pie $87 (tips included)

Mediocre food, mediocre service, mediocre atmosphere. Only go here if you’ve just checked into the hotel and are desperate for a bite to eat after a long drive.
