Ignore the 1 star reviews! These people don’t understand small town culture. If you’re new here - your opinion is irrelevant. Go back to the city and your fast food.

5 stars for convenience and service. People are always kind here and never get my order wrong. I don't particularly care for the rice, but it has been a long time since I've tried it so maybe it's better now! I order from here frequently and wouldn't recommend it to everyone looking for a place with a little bit of something:) it's got a cute, simple bar. Love this place and love these people

So far everything I've eaten here has been excellent other than pizza which I will still say was pretty good. There is a wide selection on the menu and the salsas are also really good.

So I wondering how this place has 4.5 stars!? Upon reading the reviews it seems like all that had 5 stars were from about a year ago. A majority of them anyway. And I just moved to the area not long ago so I'm guessing that's maybe when they first opened up this location? Anyway, It's not a very big place and the lighting wasnt all that great. There are a couple of booths and a few very small tables. No soda fountain ,you can choose a bottle or can drink from the cooler in the dining area. There are no menus or even a menu board, just a couple (6) pieces of paper stapled together and taped to the front counter. They also serve pizza and wings not just Mexican food.I think they We ordered the sampler plate which came with 2 carne asada tacos, a cheese quesadilla and 4 chicken wings. As well as 2 fish tacos and 2 bottles of soda. Which we (over)paid 36$ for. I didn't really mind the price because I'm all about supporting small/locally owned businesses, but the food definitely was not up to par. First issue being that we ordered the fish taco on a flour tortilla, we got an over cooked corn tortilla, instead of making it right the girl asked what did I want her to do get another one? The fish was overcooked and very bland, obviously had been frozen. The carne asada wasn't much better. The taco shells fell apart as soon as u picked up the taco. When we asked for hot sauce the young girl serving us explained that we would have to get it from the "salsa bar", which I had no idea that it even existed since it was located awkwardly right when u very first walk in and was all closed up, the red and green sauce were both very watery. The quesadilla, was pretty big and it was alright nothing special though. And finally when we were finished with the tacos our four wings came.....and you can see for yourself what those looked like in the photo. They were definitely just thrown together it looked as if someone just poured the bbq sauce over the chicken and that's it,unfortunately tasted no better than they looked. The best part of the meal was the bottled Mexican soda which was super disappointing considering we Paid 40$. The young girl at the counter was very polite and had a smile on her face which is always a good thing, but the gentleman who brought us out the wings seemed like his mind was elsewhere and was very rushed. Again, this place has a 4+ star review so I'm sure that at some point they did have excellent food so maybe the cook changed??? I dont know but seems like since opening this location it has gone down hill. Hopefully this review will open some eyes and maybe make some positive changes. I'm not sure that I'll be going back here ever.Parking: Lots of parking we were the only people there it was 4pm on a thursday

I have gone here multiple times and this time the lady owner decided she wanted to charge me whatever she wanted for the food and ended up over charging me for multiple items, I didn’t feel right about the prices so I called the next day and asked the worker today how in the world two chicken tender kids meals were $17 before tax. The gentleman usually taking the orders is really kind however when I brought up the issue he seemed annoyed and he said he’ll have to talk to his mom about it again and the way he said it honestly sounded like she’s done this to other people before. Beware, they are racist and think if you are white (which I’m not, they can overcharge you.) They do not actively give you a receipt then tell you to bring your receipt in so they can correct it. I would personally take the drive to Twin Peaks or Marana and go to Nico’s or Filiberto’s which I know I’ll be doing going forward.

Service was exceptional at this little Mexican restaurant in Avra Valley. When you enter the building, there is a salsa bar off to the left and a bar to the right. You order at the counter and the young gentleman was more than happy to answer all of my questions and to make sure that I got exactly what I wanted as I wanted a spicy sauce on my chicken burrito. He even had me taste the sauce before he added it on my burrito. We also ordered a sausage breakfast burrito with refried beans and cheese. There were a lot of refried beans in it and we really didn't care for the sausage flavor. He was nice enough to print up their menu and prices so that if we were interested in calling ahead to order, we would have all of the information. AWESOME SERVICE!!! I went back a few days later with a friend and there was a different gentleman at the counter and just as nice as the younger one from a few days before. The breakfast burritos were delicious with bacon, egg, cheese and potatoes. The salsa bar was great to spice up the burrito.
