I'm only giving them 3 stars because I came here for a birthday and I told them we were here for our birthday and although the food was good as usual the fan fair was less than excited especially for a birthday.

This was the first time I have eaten there. It was so delicious. The way that they cook your food right at your table is so cool. The prices are good too. I will definitely go back again.

We had reservation for 7pm. We get there and the hostess say we cancelled. I said why would we be here if we cancelled. We ordered tappanyaki and sushi then they tell us.Since they were not prepared to serve us we had to choose between tappanyaki or sushi because the guy who makes sushi also is our cook. They offered no solution to remedy the problem they expected us to do it. Maybe they think there the only game in town or there making so money they can afford to lose customers. In any case we will never done there again.

Not sure where to start: air conditioning almost non existent, salad sucked and the main thing is the place is filthy. Carpeting hasnt been cleaned in god knows how long and due to their inadequate ventilation for their grills their is grease/dust building up on the walls. the one positive is the scallops were good. This place is a hard pass....

Have been in Mesa since 1982, was aware when Ah So opened however until tonight I had not eaten here. What a treat, some of the best Japanese food I have had. Very generous portions, very nice and entertaining grill man. The grills generate a lot of heat, so it was a little uncomfortable.

I'm going to give this place a big fat one star. This is based on customer service. Showed up at 7 45 just to be told that they are no longer serving guests even though the sign advertised 9:30. And there was maybe a handful of people in the restaurant. Trust me there's better sushi restaurants around I recommend start somewhere else

Great food and friendly staff. They are by reservation only but allowed us to do a walk in. My kids ate everything salad, salted beans, rice, and vegetables.

Love the experience. It's always fun having your food cooked in front of you. The food tasted delicious. The sake bomb went down smoothly.

Pretty disappointed with our experience and food. The waiter however was awesome and keep our drinks full. The restaurant was very run down and hot. The restaurant was constantly full of smoke even with the exhaust fans going. The chef was nice, but lacked in entertainment skills. You go to teppanyaki for the experience and food. The scrimp did not taste fresh and way over cooked. The food quality over all was poor. We won’t be back to this location.

The restaurant used to be good and lots of fun to be at, but lately they have gone downhill A LOT. It is way overpriced for mediocre service and food quality. This last time we went, the chef over cooked our shrimp, chicken and steak. Not to mention, forcing auto-gratuity for sitting in a hot dining area, bad service, and flies landing on me constantly shouldn’t be allowed. The only thing to save them was the fried rice. It’s a wonder why their restaurant is dead at 7:15pm (prime dinner service hours....). Not worth it anymore, sad to say but might as well go to Benihana or Osaka for better quality, service, and environment.

Talk about a dinner and a show! Ah-So is a spectacular dining experience and a must-see. And the chefs are stupendously talented and make for excellent entertainment. And that's all before dinner. The food here is just as good! Between the fried rice and chicken with teriyaki, I was completely filled for hours. For being on the pricier side of things, Ah-So delivers nothing but your money's worth in both performance and practice. Heavily recommend this place for friends, family, and dates. It truly is a once-in-a-lifetime experience that should never be missed out on!

Love this place so much and the food is always on point. Just thought I'd share a fact...Weekdays they close the doors at 8pm BUT LAST SIT DOWN IS AT 715PM. SO PLAN dinner with that in mind.... I thought it was new and helpful info I never knew....

if i could give this place no stars i would, our cook for the evening was very bad, no energy, and quiet. i expected a lot out of this place. the food had no flavor. we would've been better off getting food at mcdonald's across the street. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND EATING HERE!!! go to a different teppanyaki, it would be much better. wish i didn't pay for that meal because it was not worth it and it upset my stomach.

We went to this restaurant for my sons 18th birthday as we have been going to different Teppanyaki restaurants for years to celebrate a special occasion. This place was such a huge disappointment. I had to tell the chef 3 times we were there to celebrate. He seemed more interested in what the two gals at our table were celebrating. He did nothing to make my son feel special. He threw some extra rice in his bowl And said, "For your birthday". We went to a restaurant last year, during the height of COVID, and the chef really made us feel special to be celebrating at that location. If you want a fun show-DO NOT go here!! Food was so-so. Also, they have a very limited bar.
