I'm so disappointed. I love Baby Kays cajun food. We went there for my birthday tonight. My wife ordered a shrimp salad. The salad came out and the shrimp was raw. She sent it back, and the owner came out with a single cooked shrimp on a plate (not the salad that my wife had sent back) and told my wife that they used special shrimp that looked raw when they're cooked. I don't know anything about magical Louisiana shrimp that look raw when cooked, but I do know that it's ridiculous for a restaurant owner to lose loyal customers over 4 uncooked shrimp in a salad.

Saw this on Check Please Arizona. Glad we went. Both got the Catfish. 2 large pieces that looked good and tasted even better!Waitress, Kayla, recommended we try the Catfish Basket next time. She was very helpful and explained the dishes to us. Definitely going back!

Had the crawfish etouffee, bread, potato salad, the sampler. I'm not sure why it's rated so highly. Definitely does not remind me of Louisianna. The flavors are not the distinct bold cajun spices one is used to. The bread was cold. The potato salad was basic. The hushpuppies, were super tiny and no flavor. The food was not cooked with love. Perhaps I got the wrong dishes but for it to be rated as highly as it is I had higher expectations. If you think this is cajun food, well you haven't had true cajun food from LA. This was not a legit experience, over rated.

First the good news, the food was amazing!! The not so good news, the wait time of 35 minutes for our food was unacceptable! Especially when they weren’t that busy! We were on the verge of walking out when our food showed up! The server was also MIA once we placed our order!

My best friend comes here a lot and brought me to try it, as I've never had Cajun food. She got the crawfish etouffee with the alligator/ clam basket and I got the catfish w/ olive coleslaw (what?!?) so good !we shared each other's food and I got to try alligator for the first time and couldn't believe how good it was I was very surprised! Next time I come to the valley I'll be stopping in!

We walked in and were greeted quickly and told it would be a 20 minute wait. There were actually 3/4 tables that left quickly but it was another 5 minutes to have us seated. That’s ok, they were busy.I ordered the seafood platter and it was good. I would give it a 4 on a 5 scale. Also had a cup of the seafood gumbo and this was a tad bland to be honest as I salted and added hot sauce. I rated this a 3 and my least favorite. The cup of red beans and rice a hard 5 and this was the shining bowl with my order. The LA produced Abita beer was priceless!!Side note: One of my guests has the red beans and rice BOWL which also has sausage and he loved it!Another guest the shrimp remoulade and was so so on this dish as it was smothered with this horseradish sauce not drizzled as told.Last guest had the appy platter and said it was “Ok”My grade food overall 4Service overall 4Atmosphere 4 and the guitar player was awesome!
