Today April 13, 2024, went to Carolinas Mesa.DONT GO There! The food sucks, the service sucks. Everything sucks! This place has gone down hill!Took around 30 minutes for just an egg potatoe burrito. Came out and eggs were like water! They told me they waiting on the potatoes. Wouldn’t you think they would have the potatoes prepared in the morning!Saw a blonde female with Blue shirt upset and mouthing off to another male with blue shirt! It just looked terrible watching them.Leadership sucks that’s what Carolina’s sucks!

This place is the best! The original building by the airport wasn't close but was worth the drive! This new location is big, clean, and has the exact same, amazing food. Everything is good from the chips and salsa and bean burritos to the enchiladas, tacos, and everything in between. I have loved everything I have tried here.

Ordered catering for my son’s wedding and it was really good. They delivered the food to the venue. Everything was really good. I would recommend their catering for an event.

Carolina's is one of my few Mexivmcan places left in the east valley where I can get quality, real Mexican food. I am an AZ native and I have seen many great Mexican restaurants disappear over the years in place of chains that cater to snowbirds and out-of-state transplants. But Carolina's had been famous in the valley for many, many years. I was so glad when they opened a spot in Mesa so I did not have to limit my visits to when I was in central Phoenix at their old location.I love their Red Chili Beef burros, their beef tacos, and their tamales are great too. I need to try more menu items. The tamales can also be purchased to-go as cooked or frozen to cook later. If you buy frozen, you will get them at a reduced price, but you need to steam them yourself. A microwave or oven will ruin them. I set them up vertically in my instant pot and they are ready to go in a few minutes.Beware that they often sell out of their tamales, cooked &/or frozen depending on the demand, so if you are planning a big dinner or party and need a ton, you may want to call and see if they will let you order ahead of time.It is right off of the US60, just north of it on Country Club.
I go to Carolina's every chance I get. The guacamole is a bit spicy for my taste but everything else is superior. Reasonable cost. Order at the counter and dine in or carry out. Fairly large eating area.

Is this place under new ownership? There was a man and woman seemingly running the show today and messed up our order twice. The atmosphere amongst the employees was moderate at best. Food was ok, but they changed salsa :( It would have been better if it was what I actually ordered.

Went to the country club and 60 location to grab lunch. Which I only have 30 minutes to get lunch. I ordered my food and they made me wait 25 minutes just to tell me they ran out tamales. When I asked for a refund the manager asked if I wanted anything else but I was already out of time for lunch. This is the 2nd time I have ordered from carolinas and waited over 25 mins both times just for them to tell me they don't have my food. I will not be returning to this place.

Ohhh baby, my household loves Carolinas. Generally busy but that's a good sign of how great the food is. If I had to recommend a single item it would have to be the red chili burrito. There's also a 3 way burrito with beans, red, and green chili. I could go on about just the tortillas, rice, beans, and salsa but you should go try it for yourself.
