Wonderful food!!! Popular place to celebrate birthdays. Lost track of how many times the staff sung "Happy Birthday" to different guests who were celebrating their special day? ????

We came for my dad’s birthday on Tuesday. Our server Tony was very rude from the start and had an “I don’t want to be here attitude.” I asked him if he had sangria, since I was recently at the Gilbert location and was wanting one for the evening. He said “I can only give what’s on the menu. Special drinks come from the bar and you have to go get those yourself.” I shrugged it off. But was bothered. I work in the service industry myself. And his comment was rude. My daughter ordered her drinks and only received a water. When it came down to soups and salads coming out, my nephew didn’t get a soup. We asked where his was and he said since he ordered noodles he doesn’t get any. Which if that’s the case at any Osaka and any time we have come in it has never been an issue and the small children have always recieved one. We didn’t have an issue with paying for one if he couldn’t have one so we asked for one. And he stomped off saying ok. At that time my brother asked him if he had a problem because his attitude was very rude!! If we weren’t a large party and gratuity was not included I would not have given him the large tip that was included with our group and it would have been to our chef who was completely amazing and made up for the poor attitude of our server. As I said I work in the industry and understand bad days.. but a gratuity does not mean he can be rude because he knows he’s automatically getting a large tip. We come in quite often for family birthdays and if he is there next time we will be sure to not have him as our server.

Well to start off Tony the server didn't seem like he wanted to be there because it showed with his service. When asking about what sushi was the chefs choice for the meal that included a salad and the miso soup, he said he wasn't the chef so he didn't know..........as a former server for 15 years those are things servers must know. What if someone has a food allergy? Then he barely came around to check on us, he kept going outside to do whatever he was doing being that no one was even sitting outside. Then he came by and asked us to pay our bill so he could go on break, we were still eating....then he said he would be back in to make sure our drinks were good and we had boxes, our drinks were freshened but after that he never came back to bring boxes, we had to ask another server. Food was delicious but the server sucked.

I have dined at many Teppan Yaki restaurants in CA and AZ, have always enjoyed them. This Osaka restaurant at Superstition, Mesa, 2 days ago was more than disappointing. The quality of the food was very poor: the Miso soup undefinable and unrecognizable as a Miso soup. The vegetables were way over salted and cooked super mushy and we were unable to eat them. The rice way too salty again with no discernable eggs or other ingredients and, again, way too salty. Could not eat more than a couple of small bites, the shrimp cooked to a hockey-puck stage and way too hard - will NEVER return to this sad excuse of a Teppan Yaki restaurant.Guests who think this is acceptable, should sample the Kasai Teppan Yaki in Scottsdale and get a taste of real Teppan Yaki dining!

Kinda "gimmicky" if you're looking for sushi. It's main draw is big parties (mostly birthdays) for the teppanyaki experience. Loud, but underwhelming flavor. That being said, of you wanna drink and be loud, this is your place.

I love coming here for the food! But if you sit at the bar and Dylan is working, goodluck getting any service. All he did was stand there and text on his phone. No hello, it was a struggle just to order a drink and food and we were the only ones sitting at the bar. Dude looked clueless on what to do.
