This was a cool place. I liked the vibe and location. The food was just so so, we got a bunch of tacos and they just weren't that flavorful. For food 3/5. However, the margs 5/5. The guava one had to be one of the best margaritas I've had! We will be back, we will skip the food but come for a few good drinks

So delicious! My wife and I visited Tacos Chiwas for the first time today for dinner. This is perfectly located in the heart of Downtown Mesa! The vibe is excellent. Patio is perfect. The flavors are over the top with authentic bold spices. Seat yourself. Bus your own table. Get one of everything! It's all so delicious! The Gorditas are magical. The barbacoa tacos! Be sure to visit the taco bar area to get the salsa, but most importantly, the spicy creme sauce!!! The drinks were also very tasty. We got two Margaritas and a Mezcal Mule.

Best carne asada tacos I've had in the valley. Hands down. The pastor is delicious as well. What do they put in the meat? Sooooo good. Very reasonably priced. Quick service. Nice casual feel. This is quickly becoming one of our regular spots. Still need to try one of those margaritas!

If I could give this place 10 stars I would. Arizona has a lot of great Mexican food and other Hispanic spots but this has to be top 3, easily. I’ve never had a bad experience here. The food, service and atmosphere are all incredible. You’ll be surprised how fast the food comes out after ordering too. This is definitely one of my favorite spots in all of Arizona and I highly recommend it to anyone.
