This restaurant isn't fancy but serves very fresh tasting seafood that's very similar to what I tried in Mexico. They gave us complimentary chips and fresh made salsa that was unique but tasty. We started out with fresh tasting fish tacos that were tasty and similar to fish tacos I had in Mexico. The entrees wowed us the most. They both were so fresh tasting and delicious. I had the wrapped fish. The fish was cooked with seasonings, onions and peppers. The fish was so fresh tasting and prepared perfect. It came with fresh hot and steamy tortillas nicely seasoned rice and a salad garnish with seasoned ripe avocado.

My husband and I have been visiting this place since it was originally opened. We don not like the fact that it has changed it's name/owners/workers often. However, we always come back as the food is DELICIOUS and there's always a good menu for kids/adults who are not into seafood. During a warm weekend, there's no better place to be than here! :)

All the food was extremely spicy, The prices were very expensive.( EX: a coke was $3.50) and they advertised a fish Taco for $7.25 for a two inch piece of fish inside. Although the place appeared clean and neat we were the only lunch patrons. The menu was very limited. We asked the waitress why such high prices she said several people had asked her that. We won't be returning and will not recommend it to people. One last thing - it was so cold in the restaurant I had to wear a sweater and a coat.
Great shrimp cocktail, great service and great flavor. I've had a hard time finding good seafood in the west valley, or good Mexican food, but this place is perfect.

NOT WORTH IT ... Bad customer service, bad food, expensive. !!! I was looking for a mariscos (seafood place) in the Peoria area and this one pooped in google. There is a little confusion as the business have change names two to three times. As November 2019 the name of this place is Mariscos y Chavelas Mexicali. Not sure why the change their name all the time I think that should have been the first red flag. I read other reviews and people complaint about the slow and poor customer service but said the food was good. Well they are right, our waitress was nice but she seemed annoyed by our questions in relation of the dishes. We literally asked 3 questions. What comes in each dish as a side?, what is cosa azul shrimp ?, do you have breaded fish? ( they have it by the way but is not on the menu). In my experience the food was not good, the food was blend. The regular michelada was good. I got a breaded fish and it tasted like plastic. The actual breading was ok but the fish had a weird taste. The rice did not have flavor and the cucumber in the salad was not fresh. The beans had no salt and the bacon wrapped shrimp had a hair. Those shrimps were good except that had a hair. The hair was probably one of those thin particles from a dish washing sponges or something similar has the hair had some green residue. I show it to the waitress and she asked me if I wanted her to show it to her manager. she did and the manager never showed up in our table. Later on the waitress came back she said " I showed this to the manager but he said that it was not a hair, I'm sorry" and I just I told her " me puede traer el checke" and she didn't understood. . She is bilingual she spoke to me in Spanish when she took out order but probably she is to young to know both languages fully? I was not expecting a free meal or even a discount but I for sure was expecting the manager to show his face an apologize and maybe offer a domestic beer on the house , or a voucher for free appetizer then next time we were there. But nope that didn't happened. I'm defenatly not going back there.

Horrible service and $18.00 dollars for a side of half a dozen of cold shrimp. Food was good but the service was horrible.. no manager on site. Never again coming back!!!! Save your self the headache and don't come here.
