First time here and the food was excellent. Nice portions too. We took leftovers home for a second meal a day later. Service was good too - we’ll be back!

Food was terrible, served cold. Most of the menu items are not detailed enough and have you asking the server numerous questions. As a Mexican, their prices weren't fair. In a state with such rich Mexican heritage don't waste your money here. There are definitely better establishments.

The atmosphere was nice. Smelled good as you walked in and your expectations were set. And that’s where it ended. Not sure about the other reviews but it’s crockpot food at its finest. The sides are really bland. Save your money and go elsewhere.

As with most open concept restaurants, it is loud. Everything else was fantastic! Our server/bartender was amazing. We ordered the chicharon pork belly tacos were amazing as well as the salsas and guacamole. We also had their butter cake. It was great.

I recently celebrated my birthday at Mochilero Kitchen in Peoria, Arizona, joined by five of my friends for what turned out to be a delightful culinary adventure. The restaurant boasts a modern Mexican theme in its decor, creating a vibrant and inviting atmosphere that perfectly complements the flavorful dishes served. For appetizers, we indulged in the Queso & Chips, featuring a delightful Asadero-Oaxaca blend with pico and house-made tortilla chips; Guacamole & Plantain Chips with a unique combination of Serrano, pineapple, and cotija; and the standout Roasted Brussels Sprouts, doused in apple cider gastrique and a creamy guajillo-peanut sauce. Each dish was a hit, though the guacamole portion seemed disproportionally small compared to the abundance of plantain chips. My main course plans hit a snag when I learned the red snapper was unavailable. Disappointed, I chose the Mochilero Mole instead—a savory dish of chicken breast in mole, sprinkled with toasted sesame seeds and served with pickled vegetables, black beans, and rice. While tasty, my heart had been set on the snapper. My friends' burritos, on the other hand, were massive and met with rave reviews all around. No birthday meal is complete without dessert, so we opted for flan. It was delicious, though it missed the mark with the absence of caramelized sugar and could have benefited from more thoughtful plating with sliced strawberries and whipped cream. The evening wasn't without its flaws. The most notable was the lack of attention to clearing dishes between courses, leading to an awkward juggling of plates to accommodate each new serving. This oversight detracted from the otherwise professional and responsive service. Additionally, the noise level made conversation challenging, and our seating near the entrance resulted in an unwelcome draft every time the door opened—a pony wall could easily remedy this issue.Despite these hiccups, Mochilero Kitchen provided a solid dining experience. The food's authenticity and flavor profile, along with the overall atmosphere, made for a memorable birthday celebration. I would definitely return, hopeful for a chance to try that elusive red snapper and confident that the minor service and seating issues could be addressed to make future visits even more enjoyable.

First time visiting this establishment but definitely my last I asked the waiter specifically if they did chips and salsa for the table because typically they do he told me no I would have to order them so I asked him specifically okay how much do they cost he told me don't worry about it I got you so I said OK then I would like an order of chips and salsa,Then when I get my bill I see that I am charged $5 for the chips and salsa so I specifically ask him about it and he tells me no I didn't say that,if that was the case then why was i not provided with the price when i asked for it,because i would never have ordered it had i known they were that much,i talked to 2 employees to get it fixed but neither seem to care,to top that off my friend asked for chips to go with the meal she ordered and did not get charged for hers,so ridiculous a party of 12 yet you can't fix your mistake for a bowl of chips.

I stopped in for a fun Sunday brunch with some friends. The food was delicious as last time. This time I tried their brunch (Sopa Benedict) and a mimosa. The mimosa was very small for the cost, didn't realize just how small or I would have tried something else. The service sadly was mediocre at best. The waitress we had kept forgetting to check on us (I had to ask for water refills and then flag her down to get our bills). The last nail in the coffin for why I reduced the review to 4 instead of the 5 I gave it originally was the fact that the waitress didn't explain up charging that happened based on my meat selection for my Benedict's. Apparently choosing chorizo was extra and she never mentioned that, just listed it like a normal option. I do t appreciate not being told about upcharging. I will probably be back but will stick to lunch or dinner as that food (to me) and as better.
