“My wife had noticed the restaurant opened in our neighborhood (40th St. and Bell Road) a few months ago and we finally went for lunch 3/17.Incredible.She had the borscht and pelmeni sampler. I had a cup of solyanka and the vareniki, sauerkraut and sausage combo. We traded bites, and both loved everything. (At our server's recommendation, I mixed the regular mustard with the 'kraut and used the extra hot mustard on the sausage. It was perfect.)It was the best borscht I have ever had, very rich and flavorful without being at all heavy or overly earthy. Both the soups were light and rich at the same time and exploded with fresh, clean flavors.Everything was freshly made and perfectly cooked. Our server, Patrick, was very personable, knew the menu top to bottom and made great suggestions when asked for input. For dessert we split a (generous!) slice of honey cake that was so light, airy and multi-flavored that I would have gladly eaten more until I'd made myself sick. The portions are hearty but not overwhelming. The room is clean and well-kempt. The staff is friendly and attentive without being smothering and the food is the best Eastern European food I've had in a very long time.We will be going back often.“

“Euro Bakery Cafe is a small shop in a retail strip very far away from where I live. Mr P works close by, and has brought food home from this place gem. The shop has a food counter on one side, a few small dining tables, and a small Romanian grocery. The staff is very friendly, and are always grateful for your patronage. We ordered WAY too much food for two people, and it was all amazing. Mitetei are small sausages. The sandwich or the plate both satisfy. Let me tell you, the sandwiches are huge! The lamb sandwich and grilled chicken sandwich are equally tasty and huge. Breads are baked fresh in-house. There is a swirly bread thing that is stuffed with cheese - I have no idea what it's called - that is the most amazing thing. I believe it's also available with spinach. To complete your meal, there are usually a few fresh pastry items in the case. All wonderful. Again, I have no idea what stuff is called in Romanian, but I call them delicious! There are also staples and treats in the grocery section. Give this hidden gem a try!“
