What a difference a few years can make!! Music was no longer a main feature!! Food was visibly fresh and well managed, staff was quick, accurate and ready with paper menus. Sashimi platter features were well cut, fresh. Calamari app is crisped just right, not overcooked or under cooked. Sushi rolls I had N Lights and Señor Larry, rice was perfect!! Not overly soft or under done.Great time!! Would actually take friends or family!!!Non alcoholic mix drinks are available on request.

MAKE RESERVATIONS - The food is good and happy hour prices are worth stopping in to check out (honestly I wouldn't come if I was paying full price). BUT I have been here now multiple times, the first time we were turned away with no reservation (yet the restaurant appeared to be empty), so then the next handful of visits we made reservations to see your establishment not even a 1/3 filled or busy during our entire meal(s) (our time there was between 3 pm to 5 pm) just doesn't line up and honestly a little annoying.

I thoroughly enjoyed the Hamachi Shiso Agauchile paired with Clarified Shiso Aguachile (what a smooth cocktail) as suggested by my server Ethan. Afterwards I had the delicious New York Strip paired with wine. What an amazing experience, I look forward to my next visit. ?️

EVERYTHING is a 10/10 - taste, quality, service, ambiance. Some of the best sushi I have ever had! Their happy hour is also an amazing deal - but honestly if you pay full price for your meal, it's so worth it. Can't recommend enough!

This place is the absolute best sushi that I have ever had in my life. The ingredients are super fresh and flavorful. The service was outstanding - knowledgeable, friendly, and great at helping us order. The ambiance was way different than what I have experienced before and that's a good thing. The restaurant was located in a sort of art district and the energy was lively. For a couple of middle aged people, we felt super hip...do they still use the word hip LOL. We will definitely be back the next time we are in the area. Highly recommend that you check it out.

Parking: there's a lot attached and it wasn't at all obvious that that's for Kaizen. It is; you're safe to park there.Absolutely fantastic sushi. Had the Señor Larry which was an amazing Mexican/Japanese fusion. The NY strip with a sake/miso reduction was incredible. The miso soup was fine (good, not great — nothing to write home about, but also not mad I got it). Will definitely go back.

Went during happy hour on a saturday around 430pm. It was relatively empty but started to fill up as we left. There are a lot of available options during happy hour, but they do add am automatic 20% gratuity from the original cost, which they are transparent about. The food itself was fresh tasting and each dish was worth getting. The vegas roll was definitely the favorite of the sushi. I would also recommend the chicken karage and bacon chicken skewers. Im not a cocktail person so I cannot speak on those but they have a variety of options, including some seasonal stuff.Parking: Parking may be limited until 5pm when the whole lot opens up, but personally did not have difficulty finding a spot when we went.

As an out of town guest staying in Downtown PHX on 2/10/24, my hubby and I were in search for an upscale happy hour nearby. We're so glad we discovered Kaizen. Not only were we impressed by the ambiance, delicious cocktails (Sweet Nothing, Hiko Keiru, and Kuruzu), and expansive happy hour food menu (Dragon roll, snow crab wontons, shishito peppers, karaage, shrimp tempura roll, and spicy salmon roll), the service was top notch. Although we did not have a reservation, the host was friendly and accommodated our request for high top seating. Our server, Julie, was out of this world and went above and beyond to ensure we had an enjoyable experience. She was kind and hospitable, and made our visit a memorable one. We plan on returning to this gem when we visit PHX again in May! For those who complain about the 20% gratuity to the happy hour menu before the discount, don't be a cheapskate! The quality of drinks, food, and service is well worth it. Enjoy!
