all you could hope for in your neighborhood mexican restaurant! no frills, old school decor, and very friendly service. the chips and salsa are fantastic and loved the chicken enchiladas! so happy to find a reliable spot like this in central phx. go get yourself a marg for $4 right now!

I wouldn't visit again. The food wasn't very good and the wait staff won't let you switch rice for veggies for example. Just didn't taste good. Honestly I would have rather had filabertos.

I waited to try this place and was highly disappointed. Food was terrible. I had the special. 2 tacos, rice and beans for $9.99. No season no taste, too hard. My waiter however was very nice. I sat at the bar basically touching elbows with the person next to me. Chips were broken badly and the salsa was very watered down like they tried to stretch it. I couldn’t eat it because it slid right off and made a miss on my shirt. Couldn’t sit comfortably. In front of me were the menus , straws, napkins, and other things for waiters to get for new table. So I constantly felt like they were reaching over my food, no excuse me or nothing which eventually aggravated me so I left without finishing my food. The place is very small.
Staff are nice and accommodating to vegetarians but the food is not good. I ordered take out so I couldn't send it back or voice my distaste. The tortilla chips and taco shells were extremely stale. Cheese is rubbery, "guacamole" is a pureed avocado with a splash of lemon juice. Beans are bland, rice is bland, enchilada was meh.Vegetarian options: You can substitute meat for beans

Greasy old beef tacos.Crunchy bitter burnt tasking rice.Did I say greasy? Let’s just say bad experience and will never go back.And the waiter did nothing about my report if the rice.. just “oh I’ll make sure the know this” and didn’t get any other accommodations. We were on our way to the airport and looking for some Mexican food for a quick bite. Luckily, we found this gem. The food was delicious (especially the hot sauce), staff was friendly, service was quick, atmosphere was clean, & inviting. Highly recommend! ?%

Food was okay.. I wasn’t a big fan of the rice and beans.. tasted different in my opinion. And I have had tasty rice and beans but this was not it.. IMO. The carne asada tacos however were good!! along with the pico de gallo.. And the chips and salsa were also very tasty as well!! So overall I give this place ⭐️⭐️⭐️.
