I tried their food at the Farmer’s Market and it was amazing! Can’t wait to visit the brick and mortar shop. Highly recommend!

Being Polish, I get this food anywhere possible. She has a great sausage & sauerkraut. The stuffed cabbage was the worst I've had in 57 years. This is my first review as well. I asked if there was garlic in the stuffed cabbage, "No, brown rice & pork". I let it thaw, warmed it up & just smelled brown rice. I saw no pork & the rest got relegated to the freezer...

Best Polish Sausage I've ever had. Upon entering, I was surprised by how adorable the place is. There are like 3 tables, a packaged food stand, and a station for the cash register/menu (all from the 80-90's I'm guessing). Some framed paintings on the wall that I can only describe as "the exact ones from my grandparents home in Mexico". I was def in the right place. I was warmly greeted by the speculatively Polish owner/chef and I asked if they accepted credit cards (they do). I like to think of myself as a less pretentious foodie (not much less though). I had researched the menu and the reviews. By sheer obligation, I had to order a polish. Having worked at Ted's Hot Dogs, I figured I knew what a polish was. I'd received enough Chicagoan abuse on the condiment line to know how much sauerkraut to put on one, and how it should be cooked, and whose great grandmother's mustard recipe is the best. I ordered my polish and in a pretty heavy eastern European accent (which I'm guessing is polish, which only cemented my decision to eat here), the owner responds "you want it with bread?". The world I once knew crumbled before me like a nature valley bar in a clean room. At this point I realized that I truly knew nothing, Jon Snow. I let my conjecturally Polish spirit guide takes the reins. He suggested bread, sauerkraut, and mustard. I accepted his kind offer. I asked what else he would suggest for a weary traveler of remarkable hunger and glaring curiosity (hoping to try a few menu items, as one does at a new eatery). This upstanding citizen didn't even try to upsell me. He said "more? are you sure? It's good size". I was taken aback, I was Oliver Twist and He, the master, cocking back the ladle of respect and decency. He suggested the Pierogi mix plate, as one might assume (even though you shouldn't, shame on you). So it was settled, and I was fully prepared to order everything to go so that I could take it back to the office (like 5 min away). that was until the owner said "Are you sure? If you take to go it may not be good as if you eat here". I thought to myself, "eh it's only 2pm on a Thursday, I have nowhere to be", as my coworkers read this in horror. I took his advice and sat down and enjoyed the ambience. The sweet sounds of the 50-60's played out from the kitchen, loud enough to hear from my seat in the dining area (it felt like waking up at 3am on a weekend to the "Oldies But Goodies" infomercial playing in the background, tired out from the pool and Mario Kart, hoping there was some cold pizza to smash). I'm then pulled out of my daydream by another owner/chef walking out of the kitchen, with a palpable Babcia vibe, as she walks towards the exit she says "you decide to stay and eat? Good for you", and then proceeds to walk outside, presumptively making the world a better place with every step. By this point, my heart is full, but my stomach is not, but this would soon change. The polish arrives first (the sausage, not the person), and he was right, it's colossal, served on a plate which can be described as "the same ones from my grandparents house in Mexico", and some silverware to match. He sets the plate down with a bottle of mustard on the side (like legit a 40oz of mustard for this giant hog of a sausage). He walks back to the kitchen and I fumble around with the logistics of eating a polish with a knife and a fork (only out of respect for how I surmise, with my limited knowledge of polish food, it's supposed to be eaten). I fail, and resort to using my hands like some sort of caveman. But, it matters not. The polish is outstanding, like some type of meat sommelier, I catch delicate notes of meat, along with a very meaty nose. I say this, not to disregard the flavor of the polish, but to praise it. It's simple, but perfect. I've always disregarded the polish sausage as a lesser Bratwurst, but I now understand that it is just my sausage ignorance prohibi

Purchased the stuffed cabbage and there was no meat, all brown rice. The brown rice drew me in, but no meat or flavor. The red sauce was watered down. We purchased at the Carefree Farmers market. Very disappointed,

Delicious food!!! Just like my Baba used to make. Authentic Ukrainian. So happy to have found this little gem. You won't be disappointed. Try the potato & cheese perogies and the meat cabbage rolls-so yummy!!

Love this place! Homemade, family owned business with delicious food and a few prepackaged items. I am allergic to dairy, so I had the sauerkraut and mushroom pierogies. They were homemade and absolutely delicious! So flavorful, fresh, and authentic. I also bought prepackaged ginger bread cookies that were awesome (I think from Sweden). I will be back. Thank you!!

This polish sausage was amazing!! Definitely measures up to some of the ones that I have had abroad. Didn't have the pierogis but I did find out that you can buy them frozen for a later date!

Great food and great service. If you want one of the daily specials you need to call 24 hours ahead. She sells the majority of her food at farmers markets I think. I will definitely be calling ahead for some in the future!
