We came once about a month ago and had a wonderful experience. Our server was wonderful and the food is amazing. We came this evening and was treated very rudely by the hostess. We didn’t have a reservation, which was fine that we now needed to wait, but it was the condescending behavior of the hostess that warrants this review. Is is because we’re a family of 5 or because we’re not white what was behind the rudeness? Not sure. Phoenix has a lot of great Italian restaurants and we don’t need to visit anywhere we’re not wanted. Seriously disappointed to have been treated like we’re not welcomed there.

WE sat outisde. Overhead heat lamp was nice. Our server, Shawna, was amazing. My wife had a glass of PinotGrigio and I hsd an IPA. Kathi had Tuscan style Pasta and I had an Americana pizza, my go to at home. For desert I had Cannoli and she had Tiramisu as suggested by Shawna. Next time i'll have Tiramisu. I want to try the Lasanga for dinner. We will be back! Jim ans Kathi
Excellent restaurant except for the fact that they want to pack you in like sardines. Tables are WAY TOO close together...space them out a bit and give your patrons room to breath! You don't have to utilize every square inch!

Like other recent reviews, we had a weird time here. We walked in at 6:37 for a 6:45 reservation. The restaurant was more than half empty — we were asked to wait outside until the time of our reservation and that they would come get us when our table was ready. A few minutes later, a family of seven walks in and as they are walking in they say, “oh, there's people waiting outside. I hope this doesn't take long because we don't have a reservation” ... and they were seated immediately. Eventually, someone comes out and says “they made a mistake, we will get you seated shortly”, we were seated around 6:55. We waited for service for about 25-30 minutes. We are able to get an order for appetizers in, and then the waitress doesn't come back for another ~20 minutes but we are able to order three normal entrees, and by this time a new party was seated directly next to us. We proceeded to wait another 40+ minutes for our food, it arrived at ~7:50. By this time, the table of seven with no reservation was receiving their check and leaving (they had salads, pizza, desert — full meal). But the real icing on the cake was the other people that were sat directly next to us 40 minutes after we arrived also got their entrees before us. All in all, we spent just about two hours at this restaurant to get garlic bread, three normal entrees and the check run. No one at the restaurant apologized or tried to speak about the situation whatsoever. The food was fine but we won't be back.

Appetizer was ok at best.Didn’t have the full menu today which was kinda annoying because that’s why I picked this place. One dish was really good and the other not so much. Service was ok at best.
We had made reservations for Valentine's Day. We did not know they were not serving the usual menu. They had a very limited Valentine's Day menu. We had 6 in our party. After an hour, we were notified we needed to finish up, our table was needed for another party. They said they were limiting table time to one hour. Not a good valentine day experience. I do enjoy Sfizio on other nights with the full menu.

This was our first time there after a recommendation for a romantic date for Valentine's Day on Open Table. The food was outstanding. Service was good. We were there at noon on Valentine's Day and were the only customers in there. It made the energy and ambience not what we expected. it was certainly a private experience where we could hear all of the conversations and operations management of the owner and his team. Perhaps the dinner crowd and energy is the time to go there.

This was our first experience at Sfizio Modern Kitchen. I saw it on Check Please Arizona and wanted to try it, so when friends in Sun City wanted to meet up for dinner, I saw it as the perfect opportunity as it is about half way between us. We enjoyed the garlic bread appetizer. For the entree prices, it would have been nice for them to include a small dinner salad before the meal. I had the tagliatelle pasta with the bolonese and meatballs. There was more sauce than pasta in the bowl! The pasta itself was good and the sauce was fine, but the meatballs were disappointing. We shared a tiramisu for dessert, a small portion for the price, but delicious. Not worth the drive for us to go there again, it was just "okay".

Quality Italian food and pizza. Received fast and attentive service from the bartender. The food was pleasing starting with the arancini. The arancini was a little different than traditional arancini but was tasty. The Italian Farm salad was not as good as Humble Pie’s chopped salad, worth getting. The salad was large enough for two with ample amounts of meat and flavorful homemade dressing. The pizza was by far the star. The calabrese came hot out of the stone-fired oven. The crust was light and delicious and the cheese was bubbly and perfectly proportioned. The sauce was robust and the ingredients complemented each other perfectly. enjoyed every bite of the pizza.

The meatball and truffle bread appetizers are fantastic. Our two entrees (especially the Chicken parm) were also exceptional. There are too tables in the restaurant that detract from the dinning experience.
