just because you put a wiener on naan bread does not make it a hotdog. I was told I was getting a hot dog, not some wiener on a tortilla. Give it another name so people are not misled. The food here is not even that good. teds in Tempe is the spot. this is trash on a plate.

I went on a Sunday around noon and ordered an all beef Chicago and a beer. I don't know what it was about the combination of ingredients (relish, tomatoes, onions, pepperoncinis, mustard, and celery salt), but it was a juicy mustardy mess and one of the worst hot dogs I've consumed. I'm not sure if it's that naan isn't the right vessel for such a heavy load, or that it was oversauced, but I went in with pretty mid expectations and was still disappointed. The service was fine. After ordering from the window with the friendly cashier, I picked a table outside that hadn't been bussed yet (not a big deal), and enjoyed the vibe and music outside. My sole regret is not ordering a doughnut, which I'll certainly do if I ever go back.

Fantastic and friendly staff! The atmosphere is wonderful. The food is great! They have Pool, Foosball and board games available to play with your friends. Best of all, this is an extremely dog friendly restaurant.

This place is awesome. The hot dogs are gourmet and I could live on the fried pickles alone.

Love this place! We go all the time for a pitcher of beer on the patio with our pooch. Their fried pickles are the bomb, and so is their Sunny dog, my favorite! Highly recommend!

It was a great experience. My first with the combination of good hot dogs, Navajo fry bread and a good selection of condiments. Friendly staff.I took interesting donuts home.

Okay this is our favorite spot in Phoenix and one of our all-time favorites ANYWHERE! The whole concept is super creative and the dogs are amazing. Visiting Phoenix for a month and have already been back to Short Leash multiple times. These are not "hot dogs" in the traditional sense (do NOT think Oscar Mayer), but are culinary masterpieces that you get to help build. Brunch is (almost) as mind-blowing and the doughnuts...the doughnuts...oh my Lord, the doughnuts. Never have tasted anything so good. Each time back we've said "best doughnut ever" and then it gets beat the next time around. Indoors has a cool vibe (love the old school posters and all the dog photos) and the outdoor patio is off-street and wonderful in the spring weather. Don't miss Short Leash Hotdogs if you get the chance.

I swear that I've reviewed Short Leash before because I've been enjoying them from nearly the beginning when they first hit the streets in 2010 as a food truck and then at their spot on Roosevelt and now in the Melrose neighborhood. Short Leash's hot dogs always hit! The variety of wieners is nice () and includes a veggie dog for non-meaters. I'm a fan of the poutine dog (fries, cheese curds, gravy) and the Bear (peanut butter, gouda, bacon, bbq sauce, cracker jacks!) but their Chicago dog is perfect for a more traditional bite. Look: almost any doughnut is a good one and there are a lot of great spots around town but the Rollover brioche doughnuts are bonkers-level great. I just had the lemon frosted raspberry filled one and good lord, it was awesome. All of their baked goods pair well with whatever your preference of coffee or tea is; they got you! Everyone at Short Leash is sweet and hospitable, which makes sense since founders Brad and Kat Moore have always put customers first. The vibe inside is kind of a mix of a chill coffee shop with a dash of a modern diner; clean tables and clean lines but unpretentious. Plus, they have a wall dedicated to photos of patrons' doggos. The patio is a good place to bring your furry friends (canines or bearded pals) to get some behind-the-ear scritches (ask first, though). On top of what I mentioned, Short Leash still cruises around town in their food truck and trailer, setting upfor special events, weddings, and whatnot. Short Leash is a true Phoenix original and well worth your time and support.

The selection is off the hook and dog photos make the atmosphere relaxed. (At least for me.)

This place is truly unique. The service was friendly and engaging. The menu boasts so many one of a kind hotdog options (the Poutine Dog was stellar) as well as artisan pastries. We had both the lemon raspberry and the orange pistachio, and both were excellent. The atmosphere of the restaurant gives off very strong "Friends" vibes. There are couches where you can hang out, a foosball table and a small stage where they host live music.

So good wish they were open more often. But alas I get it. One day I'll try the wiener tour where I eat one of each wiener

Love the vibes here with the fun artwork, funny shirts, live music, and the comfortable seating areas with games. This is a great neighborhood spot with incredible food. It was difficult for me to decide what to get because everything looked so good. I ended up going with the Millie, maybe because it was listed first? Anyway, it was fantastic. My friend had the Ollie which was also great. Oh my gosh and the fried pickles?!?! Some of the best I've ever had. My only suggestion is to consider a hotdog flight so guests can try multiple styles. I'm thinking two smaller hot dogs cut in half and on mini buns (mini naans?). I think this goes back to my FOMO of not being able to try everything on the menu.

I’m torn on this place. They try too hard to make everything a little funky and crazy, food wise. Too many contradictory flavors on a dog, on top of the naan bread instead of a hot dog bun. But the pimento cheese appetizer is amazing, as is the service and drinks. I’m not going to stop going there for the apps and drinks if I’m in the neighborhood, but I’m not driving across town just for this restaurant either.
