First visit to the Genuine. Ordered the avocado toast with two poached eggs for my entrée. The eggs were hard boiled and the avocado toast was lacking avocado in general. Service and atmosphere are excellent but my food was completely uneventful and basically tasteless. Will I return most likely not. There are too many options for much better food.

Happy Hour was an amazing deal! My friends got a martini from the happy hour list, and they brought out the entire shaker cup, giving them 2 full glasses worth for $8. Food menu on happy hour was limited but good. Will go back for the deals.Parking: Parking along half of the building. Semi-limited about of spaces. We went during happy hour and there were plenty of spots open.

Everyone from the host to the bartender to the manager are friendly, knowledgeable and good at what they do. Really can't say enough about this place. We decided this will be our local hangout. Just had my leftover pizza for breakfast..soooo good and the roast chicken is one of the best we have EVER had. Even tho there were a bunch of screaming adolescent girls running around the place, it was still a good experience...lot's of eyerolling and shared laughs with the staff. Thank you!John & Paul

This used to be our favorite uptown restaurant. Went for a business lunch this Wednesday and the burger was lukewarm, tiny, bun was burnt black, salad with no dressing… basically arugula. Onions were raw although it said caramelized onions. Place was empty. Spoke to my server at the end and his response was that he will pass on the feedback but that he wasn’t sure it was going to make a difference. Asked to speak to the manager. Spoke to assistant manager and gave the same feedback and his response was as lukewarm as the burger patty. Honestly it felt like a defeated staff of a sinking ship. Are they closing? How disappointing. This used to be a good place

Decided to try something new and stop in here on a saturday afternoon. Not busy at all and the server was probably the nicest server we’ve ever had. The drinks are very yummy & the interior is unique and fun.We tried the double smash burger which was very good & the meat & potato skillet which i wasn’t a huge fan of. it lacked basic seasoning and the potato’s were a bit firm. We will be back to try more!

I came to The Genuine in downtown Phoenix for a friend's birthday brunch and it was DELISH! It is a Genuine Concepts (The Vig, The Womack, Campo, The McMillan, The Little Woody). I was a little nervous at first because it wasn't busy at all for a Saturday early afternoon but then found out from the waitress that it's pretty new. It used to be The Vig and they renovated it for The Genuine.I got the Poppin Peachellini, jumbo cinnamon roll with cream cheese frosting and breakfast pizza (ricotta, sliced potatoes, Italian sausage, caramelized onions, egg, mozz and parm). Everything was absolutely yum!Check it out! ?
Beautiful ambiance, great service, wonderful food presentation. The starters and entrees looked amazing but fell short on flavor - with a little bit of tweaking they could be great. Nice selection of cocktails - they were delicious.
We dined in at 7:30 on a Saturday. I was extremely surprised at how relaxed the vibe was for a Saturday evening at that time. It was busy, but not loud. The inside is spacious and open, but they have these concrete divider wall things (idk?) that provided a nice intimate experience. Our server Caleb was very knowledgeable, not only about this restaurant but all of the other restaurants within the concept. He gave us the perfect amount of attention/space for a couple on a date. The food was delicious and drinks were very fairly priced for the quality. We split the Caesar salad and mushroom pizza. I appreciated their spin on the anchovy dressing, it was a nice level up from a typical Caesar. The house wine was a very tasty cab; better than most house wines in my opinion. I'm so glad we decided to try the restaurant after driving past one day and making note of it. I will definitely be back! We also took a peak at their HH menu and it has some great deals!! Pizza and bottle of wine for $20 count me in!!

I made a reservation yesterday for 6:15, but I guess the reservation that was saved on my OpenTable booking was for 6 PM instead. We live an hour away from this restaurant, but we were celebrating my sons 14th birthday and we wanted to give this restaurant a try. On our way there, two of the freeways that we took both had accidents and lane closures. What would've been a 6pm arrival for us ended up getting pushed closer to 6:25 pm because of these accidents. I called the restaurant to let them know and spoke to Taylor. She was so understanding and was kind enough to still honor our reservation despite being over 15 minutes late already when I called. When we got there, we were seated right away with the seat preference that I requested upon my booking. Our server last night was Justin. I let him know of the situation — how we would've had over an hour of eating and enjoying my son's birthday dinner, had it not been for the multiple lane closures we encountered on our way. Justin was very understanding and requested for the kitchen to rush our food orders, because we had a jazz concert to attend by 7:15 PM. We placed our orders by 6:35 and we were done eating, including a free birthday dessert courtesy of Justin, by 7:10. On top of this superb service, the restaurant itself had elegant and tasteful furnishings, subdued lighting, and exquisite flavors. Despite the rushed circumstances of our dinner, The Genuine still managed to give us a memorable and delightful experience, marking my son's birthday with grace and charm. Thank you for your rare-nowadays excellent service.
