I have been eating here off and on for 30 years. The food & customer service is excellent. Sadly, like most restaurants, the portions have shrank tremendously. (which is understandable considering our economy). Sadly I'll no longer eat here because the cost doesn't justify the small portions.

Absolutely love this place!! I’ve been eating at Tokyo since I was a little girl! Best Katsudon and Teriyaki bowl in town. Please don’t change the menu ever!! Totally worth the drive from Goodyear ❤️

One of my favorite spots since I was in high school. For me, it's a comfort food that is nostalgic. There has been some obvious changes, but the original classic 's are still served. Pleasantly surprised at quality, portion and flavor of the Bento Boxes we ordered for an early dinner (A & B) - but, the added side salad [upgrade, with a beverage] was a bit sad as all it contained was cut-up iceberg lettuce with a bit of sesame dressing.For a walk-up counter place, it's quite endearing and pleasant. It shares facilities with the next-door Cherry Blossom Noodle Cafe (which is a sit-down full service offering, and is delightful on its own) and for the upcoming Halloween day, has a skeleton jazz pianist ready for your requests.

Worst managed restaurant in Phoenix. Ordering online or thru UberEats, etc.. is a waste of time. All orders are either cancelled 15 to 20 minutes after placing or their untrained staff don't bother to manage their phone or online orders.
Pretty good food and a good price that's why we keep coming back.The employees however always seem miserable. My wife and I have gone here many many many times and I have yet to ever see an employee smile or even thank you. At least that's the way it is on the weekends because that's the only time we visit.If they ever raise their price to these ridiculous prices restaurants are charging these days, we will never go there again. Perhaps when we go to other restaurants we're paying a premium for someone who smiles and we get miserable unthankful employees here which yields us an affordable meal.

We used to go to the Thomas road location in the 80s and 90s and then lost touch with them when they left Scottsdale road. We reconnected over 25 years later and loved it. The bento boxes are great! Added a beverage and salad. The salad and dressing brought back great memories along with the teriyaki chicken. The prices are still outstanding! This is a regular place for anyone in the area...

Tokyo Express ..... What is that Chicken you are serving these day's???? It's texture was wayyyyyy off, and trust me .... that DIDN'T taste like chicken!!! Had a friend try it too to see if I was Crazy!? She was like NOPE as she gagged!Please DON'T be getting on the Lab Meat train!Last time I ate there less then a year ago it was delicious, how I've remembered it for a Zillion Year's.Good luck
