(Edit: I went maybe three months ago, I see more recent reviews are scored higher and they are likely more accurate)First, the good. Great atmosphere. Service was acceptable. Unfortunately, they made me the worst Old Fashioned I ever had in my life. The bartender stated that it was his best drink. It tasted like a straight shot of alcohol. None, and I mean absolutely none, of the other flavors came thru at all. I literally sat in front of where they make the drinks and watched him make it. I don't know how he botched it but he did. I have heard rumors that the drinks were not good but "wow!" The next time I'm downtown, my guest and I are going here to have a competition on who can order a worse drink at this beautiful bar.

The Mrs. and I stopped by the Point Bar & Lounge last night for a drink. We were staying at the Hassayampa Inn and it was just a short walk from our location. The Point Bar and Lounge is located on Montezuma Street(aka Whiskey Row). You'll see the sign when you walk up to it and just follow the stairs. DO NOT try to go through the first door you come to on your right. Keep walking all the way to the back which is the main entrance. The Point Bar and Lounge is old school in ever way. Teak wood paneling on the ceiling and part of the bar. The bar top was illuminated from underneath so I can only assume it was made of travertine. The seating is a combination of low and hightop tables, leather chairs and green velvet. The bartenders wore black and were dressed nicely and the cocktail waitresses wore long dresses. We arrived around 5:30 and were able to find a seat. The place was already busy and was getting busier as time went on. Our waitress, Brook, arrived to take our order. The Mrs. ordered her usual martini and I ordered my usual Maker's Mark Manhattan. The bartender made me what is known as a dry Manhattan. Meaning, a Manhattan made with dry vermouth. It wasn't what I'm used to but it was still very good and very smooth. I had two and didn't feel a thing. The crowd was a solid mix of old and young. We were told by some other patrons that the Point Bar and Lounge was the best bar in Prescott. Based upon the level of service and great drinks I could easily see why.

The waitress was good. The drinks were fantastic! But the hostess lied to us about when she texted us (we were gone for 45 mins but she said she texted us an hour ago, and yes, you can check your security cameras for the time). No idea why she would do this, we're out of town and was looking forward to spending time at this facility, but we almost didn't stay were it not for us wanting to try the drinks. I'm not sure if we'll come back to this place the next time we're in the area, which is too bad because it's a really great place.

Brett was our bartender and he knocked our socks off! My husband and I came here with friends expecting to grab a quick drink and go. But we ended up spending the rest of our evening here. We gave Brett a few clues about what we like to drink and he took us on a tour of the world via liquor - from The Point's own mezcal to peated scotch to Japanese whiskey to rum to gin. We told Brett what we usually drink, and he introduced us to new liquors that were totally "on point" (pun intended). Their selection is amazing and Brett (and presumably the other bartenders, too) really know their liquor. We sampled cocktails that our friends were ordering which were also incredible. I'd suggest going in early so that they're not too busy to really benefit from the knowledge of the staff and the breadth of the selection. Ten stars. We'll be back. Thank you!
