Worst service ever! The server had no personality. We asked her several questions about the menu and her responses were dry and not helpful. The only time she was interested in speaking to us was when she found out where we were from as she handed us the check. Her eyes lit up with money signs, ha! It was the most bizarre behavior we have ever experienced. More staff training is needed.On the plus side the cocktails and the veal meatball appetizer were tasty. The ambience is also very nice.

5 stars through and through.Walked in to a couple of smiling hostess who immediately started to converse with me. I didn’t know how busy it was going to be so I made a reservation. However it just opened at 4pm so I sat at the bar to not take up a whole table just for me.I was greeted by Marcus the bartender and after looking at their menu I decided to get one of their happy hour cocktails. Didn’t disappoint.Some bread and spreads came out after that and I had some time to kill so I didn’t want to rush. I ordered my Caesar salad a short time after sitting and it came rather quickly. I ate every single bite of it. Full of lemon juice and zest.Then on to my entree. The 25 layer lasagna. It was accompanied by a little bit of chard broccolini, which added a nice depth of flavor, and contrast to the soft pillow like pasta.I highly recommend this place if you’re looking for a classy yet casual Italian restaurant over in Scottsdale.

Fat Ox had been on my wish-list for a long time, so perhaps I have myself to blame for lofty expectations. Unfortunately, none of those expectations were met - let alone exceeded. The food, drinks, and service were perfectly average. Certainly not worth the amount charged. The appetizers were completely average, the pastas were underwhelming for being made in house, and the mains again disappointed. For the same money I would go to either go to many of the other restaurants in Scottsdale that are deserving and earn it, or I would save my money and have another perfectly adequate and average money for less than half the price.

Amazing experience all around!! Pretty busy and slightly loud, however the food and service definitely makes up for it. There was a group of 3 that went and we were able to get a reservation the same day. Rasa was serving us and she was amazing with recommendations and made sure everything was great.

I did the family style meal with a large group. The food was fantastic and they were able to accommodate a variety of dietary restrictions. Some of the best pasta I’ve ever had!
Ordered short ribs ($42) and received 2 very small, very fatty short ribs. Very disappointed. Back room was freezing cold when they showed us to our table. Slow service from our server. Octopus appetizer also very small. At the price point of this restaurant, we were disappointed at portion sizes.

Had shrimp, salad, pasta, and olives as happy hour appetizers at the bar. Every item had a nice presentation and was very good. Profesional staff and a nice, sophisticated atmosphere.

Discovered Fat Ox on last year's annual trip to Scottsdale. Enjoyed it so much we decided to return this year. Every bit as good as the first visit. Food is lush. No misses on the menu.

Fat Ox was OUTSTANDING. Everything we ate was fantastic. The caesar was nice and lemony, rather than overly creamy. The brussels were savory without being syrupy. The short rib was cooked perfectly. The surprise star of the show was the brick chicken. It's served with tortilla-like flatbread, caramelized onions, a creamy citrusy sauce, arugula, and hot sauce. The dish reads like a fusion of Tuscan and Mexican - it works! We'll order it again next time. Thanks so much to our server Chrissy who gave us great menu suggestions and took excellent care of us. She made an excellent meal even better by her kind, friendly service.
